I went on a Sunday evening. I hoped the food would be better than previously. We had the focaccia, salad, pizza etc The food was super basic, the pizza was bitter with weird slabs of cheese on it not spread out. The service was slow and unattentive. For such a beautiful Venue, the food and service is consistently poor. Kind of astounds me how a pizza can be poor. The base was super heavy and the tomato was very bitter - needed sugars to balance it out. We also had a hair in our salad which we sent back Overall. ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Located in a hotel, the 270 degree very nice. Foodwise the breakfast and risotto dish was good. Pizza not so much - sauce was plain and the dough over risen but the cup pepperoni had a nice spicy kick. Unique pasta shape which I haven't seen before, like an oversized cavatelli

There are restaurants that try far too hard to be fashionable. Tiny portions, edible flowers, and waiters who explain a carrot as if it's a rare vintage Bordeaux. Sophie's Rooftop isn't one of them. On a gloriously sunny Thursday, a friend and I escaped to the rooftop on Harcourt Street for a lazy lunch, and it was exactly what you want when Dublin decides to pretend it's somewhere on the Mediterranean. I ordered the pepperoni pizza with truffle fries, while my friend went for the mushroom risotto. The risotto looked excellent, but I barely noticed because my pizza demanded my full attention. Thick, gloriously cheesy, loaded with pepperoni and just enough jalapeños to remind you that life should have a little excitement. It wasn't one of those wafer-thin pizzas that disappear in three bites. This thing had substance, and I demolished every last slice. The truffle fries were crisp, indulgent and impossible to stop eating. What really stood out, though, was the service. The staff somehow knew this Irishman wasn't engineered for temperatures above 20 degrees. Before my sparkling water had a chance to run low, someone was there with another bottle. My glass was constantly topped up with fresh ice, all without me having to ask once. It's the sort of attention to detail that makes you feel genuinely looked after rather than simply served. Great food, fantastic service, a rooftop terrace soaking up the sunshine, and a relaxed atmosphere that makes you want to cancel your afternoon plans and order another drink. If Dublin insists on having the occasional scorching day, this is exactly where I want to spend it. I'll definitely be back.

Delicious Italian food. Reminds me of the canteen in a large company. I could have done without the thumping bass in the sound. The red wine was room temperature, over 20 degrees. It doesn't suit it.

DiFontaine's Pizzeria

19/07/2026: Huge tasty Pizza slice, always great quick service, pizza selection is excellent and very good..
15/07/2026: DiFontaine’s is one of those Dublin places that has stayed consistently good for years. I first came here back in 2015 after being told it was one of the best pizzas in Ireland, and honestly, ten years later, I still think that was fair. It is not trying to be traditional Italian pizza, and that is exactly the point. It has its own New York-style identity: huge slices, proper flavour, quick service, and that late-night Dublin/Temple Bar feel that just works. I have ended up here a few times over the years after nights out, but even sober and just passing by, it still hits the same. Most recently I got two huge slices and a Coke for takeaway, then ended up sitting outside on Parliament Street because I could not wait until I got home. The portions are generous, the price is still reasonable for the city centre, and the pizza is genuinely satisfying. A Dublin classic for me. Simple, reliable, filling, and seriously good.
