St Johns Hospital in Limerick

Whilst the care I received at this hospital recently was exceptional the bed situation leaves a lot to be desired.On arrival for my op I was placed on a 6 bedded ward 5 of which were male patients.Not only was this lack of privacy for me been the only female I’m sure it was equally as hard on the male patients. In 2024 should this really be accepted and the pressure on the wonderful staff is exhausting. They cannot juggle the care of the overcrowding and still do their job to the best of their ability even though they absolutely try their best .Something needs changing now

Was in the day ward today from when I was booked in brought up to the ward to going home this evening they were amazing each and everyone one

We were in and out in 30 minutes. The registrar nurse was a bit grumpy- but it was probably the end of a long shift. Everyone else was lovely and the place runs very efficiently.
