Went here mid-week after a recommendation from a friend. What a fantastic little place. Food was absolutely perfect. The sea bass and Dublin Bay prawns are delicious. And well worth the little bit extra. The fish and chips are the best my partner has had in Ireland. The staff are very attentive. We will be returning and highly recommend this restaurant/bar

Stopped off to find a restaurant one afternoon and discovered this treasure. Food was fast and delicious with heavy sweet cream, delicate seafood and wonderfully chewy bread for sopping up all that delightful chowder. Of course the Guinness was fresh and cold. Food was so go good, not a scrap was left on anyone's plate. That speaks volumes!

Just popped in one afternoon during the Easter break and they found a place for us. The service was incredibly friendly, the food delicious and reasonably priced. The staff were professional, warm and friendly. Nice view of the harbour. Definitely recommend Stoop Your Head.

Popped over from the UKs darkest Essex. We know our seafood in a quiet understated estuary way. Thames, Crouch, Blackwater, Stour. We have the occasional fish'n'chip shop too. The Stoop was, without a doubt, the best food I've ever eaten. The opinion around the table was equal to my opinion. Cod and chips for the Lady, delicious. Firm crust if batter. Tender steaming fish within. Chips as chips should be. Large. Firm. Hot and tender. The fish curry was almost beyond my friends description. Try it. You will NOT be disappointed. Seriously. I, humbly, had the pan fried sea bass and Dublin bay prawns. Tender. Tasty. Cooked to perfection. Filling but light, if you get what I mean. I literally couldn't eat any more, but I kept trying. It was beautiful. A Death By Chocolate and Sticky Toffee Puding were however ordered. We ate them slowly. To savor the taste. They were rich but not cloying. Smooth, hot and tasty. Service was attentive but not oppressive. And forgiving of a couple of Essex-accent based misunderstandings. Superb.

I went with my parents to eat here because we were craving some fish/seafood, and honestly, I was pleasantly surprised. For a starter, we ordered pâté with extra garlic bread, as recommended by the waitress. It was €6 more (since it's an extra portion of garlic bread), but it was worth it. Perhaps in the future they could add more garlic bread so we wouldn't have to order another portion. For my main course, I ordered a fish curry. I never thought a curry sauce would suit fish so well. The cod still retained some of its flavor and texture, but the mussels and prawns tasted strongly of the sauce, which, in my opinion, was delicious. The rice was also well-cooked and seasoned. I think it cost €26, but it was worth it. And to finish, for dessert we ordered the dessert of the day, which was profiteroles with vanilla ice cream and a chocolate sauce. It was delicious and made a great contrast with the coffee, which, by the way, was a normal size. I loved everything. If I have the chance again, I'll definitely come back.

The Snug Skerries

03/01/2026: Beautiful, quirky pub with a unique character. Excellent Guinness, Estrella Galicia 0.0, and friendly staff... their Copper Throat cask strength whiskey is quite good too. This is a local for those who prefer an intimate, authentic setting over larger, more modern venues. A great spot if you want a pint in a place with soul, character, and a warm, fireplace-lit welcome. It does feel like a "living room" rather than a commercial bar, with music-heavy decor, vintage memorabilia, and an open fireplace. Music seems to be central to its identity, particularly during the Skerries Traditional Music Weekend, but also with a great eclectic soundtrack. Overall a well balanced cosy atmosphere with a traditional Irish pub feel and a modern, somewhat alternative edge. In addition to being a pub, it now houses a coffee shop and bakery right beside.
12/12/2025: Such a cosy pub and warm atmosphere. Perfect for a date, few deinks and caters for large groups too and opens late. Didn't eat here but say the food is pretty good if they do serve food.
