Strand Bar in Limerick

Family event booked in dining room. Staff excellent, very tasty food. All round lovely atmosphere.

We have a 4 day stay at Hotel Strand in Limerick, Ireland. It’s very centrally located. At walking distance you can find plenty of shopping and food joints. The bus station is close by and you can walk to it. The hotel offers a nicely laid out hot and cold breakfast with tea and variety of coffee options, juices, fruits and a variety of breads. If you don’t want housekeeping to wake you up at 8:30AM, make sure to put your do not disturb sign outside the door. The rooms are very comfortable with plenty of pillows and a down comforter. There’s plenty of room to put your belongings in so your room stays uncluttered. There’s a safe for your important gadgets and passports etc, a small fridge, a coffee machine and a hot water electric pot for tea, 2 bottles of water and 2 small packets of biscuits with one biscuit in each packet, wrapped individually to dip in your tea- a sweet addition to the variety of teas. Bathrooms have a hand held shower in a glass shower enclosure and a soaking tub, one sink and plenty of shelves to keep your toiletry and make up items. Small bar soaps and liquid shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion are all provided in big bottles that are fixed to the walls. Our bathroom had only two sets of towels and depleting tissue paper box. The tissues and toilet paper are rough to the skin, so if you’re used to soft ones, bring your own. The hotel has on site health center, sauna, heated pool and jacuzzi. It has a restaurant and room service. We have not ordered food as of yet from their restaurant so can’t comment on it. Enjoying my stay!!

All good here great bar food all day

The location of the hotel is great. The views of the river and the town are enchanting. I ran into some car trouble and Siobhain from the front desk was very helpful in getting it sorted out. We also got the lounge access and although small, the lounge is very cozy and comfortable. It doesn't have tons of stuff but it has the basic necessities. I didn't use the fitness club but walked through it and it seemed very well equipped. It is a paid club for local folks but the hotel guests get free access to it.

The city center and attractions are easily accessible from here, it is in a very good location. It was funny and in a good mood that the Hungarian staff greeted us of course "Hello Hungarians!". I really liked the "shirt wall" at the entrance. Very spectacular.

Stayed at the strand visiting family for two nights - disaster on check in that we as a family of four were put into a room with a double and single bed - the person on the front desk didn’t seem to realise that 2 beds and four people doesn’t work - and even tried to get another bed added but there was no room in the room - after much discussion they placed us in a lovely room and this made the check in disaster a bit easier - we dined at the restaraunt but food was not good and very pricey and the staff not so friendly - we decided against breakfast as it’s priced at 19 euros per adult and 10 per child - a Rip off -the hotel is lovely but there’s so much more to do with the staff and price point - 3 stars overall

Very Nice hotel in a good location. We arrived at Shannon Airport at 7 in the morning and booked our room for the night before with a late checkout---a great way to grab a few hours sleep before starting a trip---makes a huge difference. The rooms were nice and the service was excellent--very friendly and professional. Breakfast was great and parking at the hotel was very easy. We even had time to walk across the bridge and stop at a few of the shops in town. Thanks again to all at the hotel for a very nice experience

Excellent stay in the Strand Hotel, staff are fabulous, location is great, its my birthday weekend and they upgraded the room free of charge, very impressed, food and drink is gorgeous, we booked 2 nights but wish I booked longer, we will deffo be back ❤️
