Visited Galway from Canada for a conference and found that this place operates on a completely different economic logic than the rest of the city. Cheapest prices, good food, good drinks. Whoever is responsible for keeping these prices student-friendly, please know you are doing god's work.

Excellent cider on tap, (Orchard thieves, which comes in regular or “wild” variety) excellent food, and friendly staff. The burger and chips are ridgy-didge. There are also some good deals for those with an SU card.

Cafe Express

01/09/2026: Connor is a ray of sunshine, and Roisin is the magnifying glass and together they could burn down the city with their whimsical ways of serving while entertaining. The cafe opens early enough so nobody needs to drink cr*ppy starbucks, come to Roots!
17/08/2026: Best Coffee in all of Ireland by far, try the Cortado ❤️
