Taikichi in Limerick

Honestly the atmosphere and smell come straight from Japan. The service is amazing. The food is amazing. Everything is amazing.

Sushi is good. Agedashi tofu & seafood miso is quite bland for me.

Possibly the best sushi in Limerick.

Good casual atmosphere. Space is tight for a date. Tried a few different sushi rolls, the specials are the best. I tried a few vegan rolls and they weren’t as exciting as some of the other things looked but I’ll be back again to try more! I wish they explained what was in the vegan options as it doesn’t explain and the waiter didn’t do great job of explaining. Vanilla Tempura ice cream was unreal and fun to try. We were rushed out due to a queue forming ..

Very popular place. Hard to find a place. Food was really good.

We were in town for one night and searched for some Japanese. Thankfully we got a seat here on a very busy night, even without a booking. The environment is nice, comfortable cushioned stool seats at tables, with dim lighting. We had gyoza and yakitori expected as starters, though the yakitori came out after two of the main dishes were already served, and both serves of it and the gyoza unfortunately were barely warm. Each had nice enough flavour, though we found the skewers a bit dry, despite the lovely sauce, seemingly using breast instead of thigh chicken which I'm more used to. The tonkatsu ramen was hearty and warm, and the grilled pork was tender and tasty, though I found the broth to be lacking strength of flavour. The teriyaki chicken bento, and the nabe yaki udon however came out piping hot and very tasty, and the nabe yaki had a massive amount of delicious flavour in the broth and was the stand out (and in some ways redeeming) dish of the evening. The staff were perfect for us, helpful when getting is seated, taking our orders, and checking on progress with the meals. Solid place that was not at all disappointing, though I feel has room for improvement particularly with the smaller dishes we tried.

Myself and my wife come here at least once a month, amazing food , great quality and service . One of my favourite restaurants to go to in Limerick. A must visit for all sushi lovers .

The oldest running, and I dare say the best, Japanese restaurant in Limerick city. Great, friendly staff, nice atmosphere and tasty, authentic food, not the cheap westernized food you find in some Asian places these days. The sushi platters are delectable and I think perfect. Teppan Yaki Seafood is my favourite maincourse. A huge portion will fill 99% of people (order with rice). All round gem!

Honestly we had some of the best food I have ever eaten at this restaurant and we have visited Japan so we have some idea of what to expect. We were there last October for the first time and I am booking a table for when we are back in Limerick next weekend. And I going there hungry. Lovely atmosphere and staff in the center of the city. It is busy even non a Sunday afternoon which is when we ate there and they were turning people away. For a more cosy table ask for the one behind their main front door (on the right side as you are going in). I can highly recommend this restaurant!
