We ordered a mix of dishes, and every plate felt thoughtfully prepared and comforting. The pan-fried fish was beautifully cooked — crisp skin, tender flesh, and bright flavours from the vegetables and herbs. Simple, fresh, and very well balanced.
The burger with chunky chips was proper gastropub comfort food: juicy, rich, and satisfying, with golden wedges that were crisp outside and fluffy inside.
The chicken main stood out for its tenderness — juicy meat, seasonal vegetables, and a clean, home-style feel that worked perfectly with the cozy atmosphere.
A classic fish & chips delivered exactly what you want: light batter, flaky fish, proper chips, and a creamy sauce on the side.
The seafood chowder was warming and generous, full of flavour and perfect for a relaxed evening. The arancini were crisp and indulgent, ideal for sharing, while the salad with cured ham, seeds, and cheese added a fresh, well-balanced note to the table.
We also shared sticky chicken wings — rich, glossy, and finger-licking good.
Overall, the food matched the atmosphere: comforting, unpretentious, and perfect for a long, cozy dinner with friends. 🍷💬

We had the steak medium and the chicken. It was incredibly delicious along with this parsnip puree, which was unexpectedly incredible. The service was great. All the food came out 5 star quality. For dessert we had the fudge brownie sundae which matched the quality of the steak. The sauce that came with the steak was soo good I had to pair them. I normally eat steak with no sauce. It was amazing both with and without the sauce. The chicken was moist and not dry. I could keep going but I’ll try to keep this short.

Not blown away by the food. A little pricy and mediocre. Fish and Chips. They nailed the chips. The fish arrived to the table warm at best. The batter had a dry grainy taste off it. Not entirely pleasant, but not the worst fish and chips I've ever had. The pasta with truffle was tasty. I suspect I would not finish the plate as it was too rich for my palette and better value than the fish and chips. The Eton Mess was not an Eton Mess. I suspect a store bought meringue with cream, blueberries and sauce on top. It was tasty but well over priced. It's hard not to make meringue with cream not taste good. I can't fault the service! All in all with so many good gastro pubs around. Give this place a miss!
