The Art of Coffee feels exactly like the kind of café Dublin does so well: modern, relaxed and genuinely focused on coffee quality instead of just aesthetics. The chain started back in 2009 and became part of Dublin’s growing specialty coffee scene, with award-winning baristas and their own seasonal 100% Arabica blend. The Hogan Place location is perfect for escaping the busy streets for a moment. Warm interior, calm atmosphere and really good coffee. The flat white was excellent, smooth, balanced and properly textured. You can tell they actually care about extraction and milk quality here. It’s also a great spot if you want a quieter coffee break near the city centre without ending up in a tourist trap. Definitely one of the more reliable specialty coffee places in Dublin.

Courtneys, menu

29/09/2025: Food was well cooked, well presented and came respectably quick. Staff were attentive, even when it was busy. The benches are very straight, so maybe some would get uncomfortable after an extended period - but food, service and atmosphere are well worth a visit
28/09/2025: Love Courtney's!! Favourite pub in lucan!! 😊

Loose Canon

14/06/2026: Loose Cannon is a cute little wine bar with a great atmosphere and a fantastic spot for people-watching. We grabbed seats in the window, enjoyed a delicious toastie, and had some excellent wine. The food and drinks were exactly what we were hoping for. The only downside was the service. This was quite literally the only place we’ve visited in Dublin where we felt unwelcome. There were no smiles, no warm interactions, and the overall vibe felt surprisingly negative. It was hard to tell whether the staff were having an off day or just weren’t particularly interested in engaging with visitors. That said, it’s still a cool spot with good food, good wine, and a charming setting.
06/06/2026: The sandwiches are excellent and the wine is very good, a bit pricey but very good.
