The Barge in Dublin

On Friday evening, we walked into McCafferty's without a reservation, expecting it to be full. To our surprise, they managed to find us a table, which immediately made a great first impression. The pub exudes exactly the atmosphere you'd hope for in an Irish pub: warm, cozy, and lively without feeling overcrowded or chaotic. We had a delicious meal there, and the value for money was excellent. Just honest pub food, well-prepared, and reasonably priced. All in all, it was a very successful evening for us. It's a place where you immediately feel welcome, and one we'd definitely return to on our next visit to Dublin.

I got traditional fish and chips, and the portion was too big. We were a crowded group, and they didn’t allow us to pay individually.

Wandered into this stylish pub and was greeted by Caroline Hickey who is the operations manager! She is a ray of sunshine for anyone’s day! She welcomed me in and took special care of our every desire!! There are so many pubs in Dublin if you miss this one you will always regret it! Come for the beer stay for the staff! Cheers!

The service was top notch, the bartender was very kind, special thanks, the service was good... The food was delicious, the music was good. The football was shown, overall, it was awesome!!!! Thank you for such good places like this ❤️

Came here two evenings in late DEC2025. We got the seafood chowder both nights. I’d say 4.5 stars for service only because we ordered two takeaway orders of seafood chowder the first night and they gave us two small tiny-style containers but charged the full-bowl size. The second night, I ate-in for a bowl of the seafood chowder (EXCEPTIONAL!) and got an order to takeaway. They gave us two of those containers for 1 order. In their defense they do not usually do takeaway chowder orders. The chowder is wonderful and the bread that comes with it is equally stunning. We came here both nights because they are that good.

Vegan options would be appreciated aside from chips 😄 comfortable and nice staff

Chicago here. Was there last week for a few days stopped in for dinner. Let us sit where we wanted. Great food. Gentleman who waited on us was great and friendly.

The chicken tenders are perfection. The pints are perfectly served and the music and atmosphere it's just superb. I had an amazing and unforgettable time there.
