The Bay Tree in Portlaoise

The food was amazing, super fresh fish, home made chips, large portions, the desserts were top class, everything was perfect. Polite staff, we loved the cozy and old fashioned atmosphere.

Perfect portion size, super friendly staff and great ingredients. This will be our new go to spot in Portlaois

The breakfasts here are just DeVine, salmon, Frys, its all great, service is lovely and the atmosphere is comfy and not too loud even during a lunch session where it can get a little crowded. love this place

The transformation salad was delicious, the nicest salad I’ve had in a long time. I had it with added homemade falafel. It was a very large portion and full of toasted nuts and roasted squash. Excellent vegan option.

Truly a hidden gem in a “quieter” corner very close to SuperValu, and the bustling shopping centre less than 5 minutes walk away. Very reasonably priced food and drink. Lovely desserts. Friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Cajun chicken wrap tasted like it had a lot of sweet chili sauce and a little bit of spice. It was v saucy and sweet which I was not expecting. The vegetable soup was more hot on the mouth as it was loaded with too much pepper. It was spicier than the wrap. This place is usually much better than today. I love the gluten free options and their bread is fantastic.

The experience was good. We enjoyed our delicious food.

A big shout out to Alan and Tamia (sorry if I’ve misspelled your names!), who took great care of both me and my Corgi on a sweltering day. My latte and my sizzling chicken lunch were both excellent, and the staff checked in on us regularly to make sure all was okay. Even more, Alan brought out ice water and snacks for my Corgi, Gussie, and Tamia held on to him so I could use the ladies. Other staff came out to say hello and check on us as well. All round, just a lovely place to eat, and we plan on returning!
