We celebrated our daughter 18th birthday in The Castle last night. Big thank u to Ray and his staff for making our night so prefect great food, Great staff and good service Thank u for making our night and making family and friend memories 👏👏👏

Really enjoyed some wonderful food and drinks here. The sirloin steak deal was great value & perfectly cooked local steaks. The staff were friendly and helpful. My 1st time visiting & would definitely revisit.👍

10/03/2025: Food was just ok nothing special. My scampi was tasty enough but the haddock was bland and the vegetables and champ had no flavour. The view is what makes this place. We were sitting near the desk with the till. The phone was constantly ringing. I asked for Tartar sauce to have with my scampi and before I had the words out the woman on the till had keyed in a charge!? She could hear me requesting it. Server didn't even tell us. Its not the money but the principal. €1.50 for a tiny container of sauce from a squeezy tub. And this on top of the almost €20 for the Scampi. Been years since we had been and I guess it will be another few years before we return.

Donadea Forest Cafe

02/03/2025: Lovely little spot for an outdoor coffee, soup or toastie, Staff were so friendly and accommodating. Perfect place to refuel after some gorgeous woodland walks.
20/10/2024: Love this place. Pamela and her staff are extremely passionate in giving a forest wonderland experience. It's quaint and homely. Even in autumn and winter Donadea coffee house will warm you with hot chocolate or coffee after your walk. A food menu has been recently introduced and you can sit outside at the picnic tables, enjoying the beauty around you. Treats for dogs and food for the ducks.
