24/09/2026: The staff was content and kept busy. They where continously chekcig we had water and that the food was being enjoyed. We have garlic mushroom, tacos, fish and chips, chicken and Chorizo pasta. The portion sizes where great and each course was done extremely well. Will be back again

20/09/2026: We were here as a family and had a fantastic meal and when paying for the meal he asked if there was any special occasions which we replied with there was a couple of birthdays as well as my father recovery from an illness in which he replied with giving a substantial amount off to put towards a charity it was incredibly generous and it’s great to see such kindness and generosity still in this world would highly recommend to everyone.

14/09/2026: Very disappointing experience in the Oak Room restaurant in Cavan town recently. No consideration for a person with intellectual disability. Shame on the Oak Room Restaurant in Cavan town. Our family were celebrating our brother’s 50th birthday there. We were a party of 12 including my sister with intellectual disability. The Oak Room have a policy, very understandably, about customers bringing celebratory cakes into the restaurant. Simply put, if people eat cake they are unlikely to have dessert, so you can’t eat cake in the restaurant. Very understandable. However my sister with intellectual disability does not understand policies and did not understand why she couldn’t have cake and she really likes cake. I spoke to the manager of the Oak Room on the night and explained the problem we were having and that my sister was upset. I also said that it was just one person in our group of 12 and at least half of us were considering dessert. I was met with not just a ‘No’ but with a stony cold ‘No’, no understanding, no exceptions under any circumstances! Meanwhile at the table, my brother took a big spoon, dug into the cake and planted some cake on my sister’s plate! Happy sister. Getting nowhere with the manager, I returned to the table. Nobody ordered dessert and we asked for the bill. Outcome for the restaurant: 11 very disappointed customers; no desserts ordered; a bad review that will be retold over and over again. Shame on you Oak Room Restaurant in Cavan.

13/09/2026: I just got married and my husband and I held our reception here. Laura was very helpful and accommodating to our asks and made sure we were happy each step of the way. Maria was also super, she made sure on the day that everyone got what they wanted or needed. The food was out of this world. The head chef, Shane, is very talented and his team is amazing. Thank you all for a wonderful evening!

24/09/2026: Absolutely gorgeous food and excellent service. Staff are extremely friendly and enjoyed seeing Padraig again after our last lunchtime visit. Tonight I had the sirloin steak, absolutely gorgeous- and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the salmon. A beautiful and relaxing dining experience and attentive service from Padraig and Matthew. Definitely worth a visit

14/09/2026: What a wonderful find! Nomad Coffee has a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, delicious food, and truly excellent coffee prepared by an expert barista. The service was exceptionally kind and made us feel genuinely welcome. It is a colorful, creative, and memorable little gem that we would happily visit again!

23/08/2026: Pleasant atmosphere, good coffee, a place that also encourages local producers (you can buy fresh eggs, local jams, honey, coffee here) a cappuccino costs 3.5 euros, hot chocolate for children 2.5 euros.

12/09/2026: When we came in we were met straight away with menus. The waitress was so nice and really looked after us. The food was unreal and the portions were very generous. The small beer garden overlooking the river is also a gorgeous touch. I would definitely recommend the roast of the day.

From our very first viewing, we knew straight away that Cavan Crystal was the right place for us. The welcome was warm, the atmosphere was relaxed, and everything just felt right. 12/06/2026: Have never stayed in a room in the Crystal, but have attended baby sensory classes, popped in for a drink and even got married there as part of the Cavan registry office services. No matter what I've been in for, the staff are always wonderful, courteous and helpful! Today in particular our car died following a sensory class in the hotel and the lovely chap on reception (sorry I didn't get your name) called Freddy from Maintenance to see if he could help. We got the car going quickly and super appreciate how helpful and sympathetic everyone was as we had a small baby in the car too. This only solidifies in my mind how great the crystal is and how often I'll be recommending them to friends and family ❤️

27/05/2026: The food and restaurant is good. Staff are very nice. However the room is a bit small and hot. There is a gap at shower curtain that the floor will get wet after taking shower though it could be fixed.

01/10/2026: I have to change my 5* review. Last visit was just an awful experience… The service was really the worst you could possibly receive! The food takes about 40min to reach the table and they were not even busy. Food for my husband and daughterwas delicious, but my Ceasor salad wasn’t. It was the worst salad I ever ate. We ordered a cake with a price of €5.50 but they charged us €6.50. For another slice they charge €7.50 when they have been confronted about the price, they told me these cakes are €6.50 And in addition we pay €5 not sure what cake. Just came randomly with prices. We end up paying for tap water too. In addition, we overpaid €12.40 Refunds were given, no questions asked, but that hustle is not worth my time. And worst thing, we didn’t get an apology from the manager/owner itself because she was there. Not a single word. Just listened and left.. For that reason, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

16/05/2026: 3 of us had Nachos(a little light on the mince but tasty) for starters I had the Messy burger 🍔, she had chicken wings & chips, the 15yr old had Pepperoni pizza and chips. All were delicious 😋 Bar man & the young lady serving us were really good 👍🏼
