The Clink in Carlow

was in Carlow for a car service & looking for a cafe for a fry-up & The Clink was recommended by a local. Think this is a hotel but was able to walk in & order. Varied menu options, great coffee & service. Highly Recommend

Aidan was a fantastic bartender and mixologist, possibly the best I’ve experienced in a bar in Ireland! He was very knowledgeable and put a huge amount of thought into each ingredient added to our drinks, making swaps to some traditional cocktails to make them better suited to our tastes based off some of the likes and dislikes we shared with him. He even makes his own vanilla syrup from vanilla bean pods- an extra step which really shows the passion and care he has for his craft and his customers. While we were there he was also very attentive as to if we were having an enjoyable night and if the cocktails were as we wanted them. If I wanted quality cocktails and expert service in Carlow, Aidan definitely is who I’d go to. 10/10 would recommend!

Great space, great staff, nice portion size, not so good with flavor. Moreover, meat was overcooked.

Despite living close to it, we had never had a meal in The Clink before last Sunday. We arrived for a pre-booked meal, and on arrival were seated promptly. The staff were extremely attentive, the food service was efficient, and the quality was excellent. No complaints from anyone, and the options for our vegan contingent were very good. One observation was that the T-bone steak was served on a sizzler plate which was a little small, and made it a bit challenging to cut, but the quality of the food more than made up for that small oversight. Will definitely be going back. Well done.

Nice food and very friendly staff, I had salmon and it was very tasty, only one comment it would be great if they get halal chicken and meet.

The food was lovely. The waiter went above and beyond to ensure our party of 5 was well looked after and that our member who was gluten and dairy free was taken care of.

5** all round first time here will definitely be back service brilliant staff very friendly food to die for Ordered 2 Tbone steaks one pizza and one prawns with chill and some side dishes the food was out in no time ordered dessert so so nice and as to the bill it was not to bad for everything we got
