The Coach House in Roundwood

We stopped in to the Coach House for dinner recently. The food was absolutely fabulous. We sat outside as weather was equally amazing. The flavours and presentation of our dishes ( starters, mains and deserts) left us wanting more. Their wine list is very well curated with suggestions that pair nicely with the various dishes. The service was impeccable and shout out to Siofra who took such good care of us. The Coach House is a five star experience without the exorbitant prices. Really lovely experience, we will return for sure.

An exceptional location on the Wicklow Mountains road, about a fifteen-minute drive from Glendalough. The welcome was warm, the food truly delicious, and the room cozy and very comfortable! In this former coaching inn, every room is tastefully furnished. As for the breakfast included in the room rate, it was simply exceptional! The portions were generous and the service very pleasant. We were also able to enjoy the small shop selling many local products. Thank you for this incredible stay!

I visited that place for lunch and have to say it was just delicious. The coffee and dessert was amazing. Also the staff was super super nice so if you are looking for a great food with a great atmosphere just pop in.

We went to the house for dinner and were particularly impressed by the quality of the food. You can see that there is someone in the kitchen who likes to cook. Impeccable service and despite the late hour we managed to have dinner. The girl who served us was kind and attentive. Good selection of wines and beers. The food was quality. We ate an excellent monkfish (it was not the only fish available). The environment smells of an old renovated Irish house that maintains the charm of these homes with rooms and a restaurant.

We stayed two nights at The Coach House. The rooms are very cozy and beds are very comfortable. Our key cards did not work at night but the manager of the property handled the situation very well. I can totally recommend the place, easy parking and very friendly personal. They even ironed my shirt when I asked for an iron.

Called in for lunch and the staff were very welcoming and suggested we sit inside with our dog rather than outside. Food was excellent. My wife had roasted aubergine and I had Toulouse sausage with the most amazing onion gravy. Beautiful old building. Dog very happy he was given a dog biscuit and bowl of water without asking. Despite the pricing very good value for money. I don't give good reviews very often so this is a welcome change. Thanks Coach House.

What can I say about this gem? I feel I’ve fallen into a photo shoot of the world’s coziest and chicest inns. The food is spectacular, the terms remind you of your grandmothers sleeping porch, the bar draws you in for a long sit and a game of cards in the corner.

Upon arriving at the coach house we were greeted by the friendliest of staff. The decor is old world mixed eclectic style and is beautiful. Our little doggie was welcome and he was given little treats. We had two starters between us they were both off the scale of tastiness!! Every staff member clearly hand picked and couldn’t do enough for us, so much so that we returned the next day I had the short rib and well I don’t have words to describe the taste sensation!! The coach house is a hidden gem and a great reason to visit Roundwood. Ten out of ten on every level

A very cold welcome from the austere lady who met us upon our arrival. The rest of the staff were much warmer and more welcoming (thankfully). The food was really good. The interior is really excellent and what the owners have achieved with the refurb is quite special. I totally disagree with a mandatory 12.5% service charge for every customer. A mandatory service charge is disrespectful to your customers and it does not motivate staff to do their best, as they are going to get the mandatory tip anyway. Tempted to give you a one star review for this policy. Change it.
