Visited for Sunday lunch yesterday. Charming place with great food. The Donegal Squid and Pork Belly salad were excellent starters, whilst the lamb shoulder was as good as I've ever had in Ireland, beautifully tender. And the tiramisu topped off a really enjoyable Sunday lunch. My Mam is coeliac and the staff were very helpful and the kitchen flexible in maximising the range of options from the menu which could be prepared gluten-free. The restaurant has a wonderful ambience, classically elegant but not at all stuffy. Staff were friendly and attentive. Some may consider it a little pricey but I've eaten in plenty of other places post-Covid at the same price point where the fare was average and/or service was poor, so for genuinely good food and service in the Ireland of 2025 I think people need to be expecting to pay around these prices. I live about an hour's drive away but hope to be back soon!

At lunch outside. Very decent spot. The menu does feel like they added a load of French words just to justify the very high prices. The cheeseburger was ok. Its "fancy word" was Wagu but it wasn't far off any other mid quality burger for me.
The chips were perfect. Great Guinness. The outdoor area was very noisy with the extractor fan on since they were BBQing things that day. Ruined the outdoor chill vibe a touch. The service was top notch, they add a 12.5% service charge so we didn't have to tip but worth noting they add it to the bill.

We came to eat dinner/lunch. The menu was very confusing, meals were fine but not very big and for its price its expensive including the 12.5% service charge. Overall good quality food but for its price and size I had better.

Nice cosy pub, but €6.95 for a pint of Guinness in rural Co. Wicklow is fairly extortionate even at today's prices.

My husband and I had lunch in The Coach House today Saturday the 15th March 2025. We were absolutely delighted with the service, food and ambience. The staff were knowledgeable, attentive without being intrusive and eager to assist with the menu. The food was fresh, really flavoursome and generous helpings. We will be back and look forward to it. Mim and Bob

Firstly, this is a review on the pub only. I recommend the owner split the accommodation and restaurant for accurate reviews.
Food was really good. I thought my schnitzel was really flavourful and well presented. My wife enjoyed her cod. I will say, it's a tad expensive for what you get, and portion sizes might be slightly under what you get in other pubs. I've seen many reviews comment on good service, but I'd describe mine as adequate (i found myself having to flag staff down for everthing). Also need to mention that this establishment has a discretionary 12.5% added to all bills regardless of party size, since that's also fairly uncommon in Ireland. And another thing with soft drinks, i got a coke zero and it was 200ml (i feel like that's info you might need since prices don't vary much in restaurants but you might get any size drink

Super nice restaurant, worth a stop if you are in the area. The space looks like it’s been recently renovated and has a charming barn/ country home feel. The food was delicious and the menu very interesting and varied.

Food and service were up to the usual high standard. Our only gripe was that dogs are allowed into the restaurant, when there is ample heated outdoor space to cater for dogs. We love dogs but not in a restaurant being fed from the owners table. The menu is very varied and tasty to boot.

We were in Ireland visiting friends for a couple of days and this pub was recommended as a good place to stay, I’d have to disagree! It was a fantastic place to stay.
From the outside it looks like any small town pub, white walls and slate roof. The moment you enter though you’re treated to a beautiful eclectic space with art in the walls and a mixture of chairs and sofas.
We had a small lunch with our friends which was delicious, I wasn’t too hungry so just had their Donegal salt and pepper squid with lemon aioli which was delicious and shared some sourdough and parsnip& feta dip/paté
After that we went to the bar and had a Guinness or two before being shown to our room.
The pub has six rooms I believe and we had number 6. The room was a surprise, it was beautiful decorated and the bed was covered in a beautiful heavy throw. I’m not sure what I expected but this room was above standard. The bathroom was also lovely, we later found the shower was one of the best we’d experienced whilst travelling.
Our evening meal and breakfast was amazing in the adjacent cafe that’s part of the pub.
