The Curragower in Limerick

It's a lovely spot. The food was a hit and miss but my seafood linguine was excellent.

Tasty food prices on the higher side

Lovely spot by the river with views of King John's Castle. Food was delicious, though my main course of fish was a little sparse. Only that my mother's dish came with chips and she didn't mind me eating half, I would have been hungry. Great spot though and will go again.

Very good food,deserts are delish, nice staff. If you have special ocasion then book the table in the GLASS ROOM - the view is just beautiful (castle and river). Only problem is the parking. Is very small. Available street paid parking but when is very busy is hard to find spot.

I hadn't been to the Curragower in quite a while, and it was great to see that the place has had a refresh. The outdoor area has been updated with hanging foliage, which adds to the atmosphere. We were lucky to visit on a beautiful day, and the views over the river and King John's Castle are reason enough to stop by and enjoy a drink or a meal. Despite not having a reservation, we were shown to a table quickly, which was appreciated. The menu still features their famous mussels (great portions), but overall the food offering felt fairly standard for a pub and wasn't particularly adventurous. Prices are on the higher side, so I would have liked to see a bit more creativity on the menu. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the service was efficient throughout. While the food didn't particularly stand out, the excellent location, updated outdoor space, and pleasant atmosphere make the Curragower a worthwhile spot to visit.

An excellent choice if you are in Limerick! It combines good food, a very nice atmosphere (especially if you sit on the terrace), impeccable service and a very nice view of the Shannon River and the entrance to the historic city center. Very good value for money.

Nice bar restaurant lots of steps to climb.Lovely view looking on to King John's castle.Busy but got seated quickly well groomed staff polite and friendly service was fast and no rush for u to leave .Got the box beef and chips v good also got onion rings a little over done but edible.Good cocktail menu.I would recommend this restaurant for all occasions.Small car park at the side.

Clearly a highly rated and extremely popular place, we thought we try it out. We booked ahead (advisable!!!) and couldn't believe the number of people pushing through the doors. It is pretty much non-stop. Unfortunately that shows as service is very well trained and efficient but lacks personality. You feel like you are a number. Whilst working and well organised, there is no personal touch. We have been to several places in Limerick and had some fantastic experiences with great service and food in other establishments, so this one was not the most enjoyable. We sat in the glass room, overlooking the river, which was great. The food was underwhelming. Good ingredients and nothing wrong with it as such but it was incredibly bland. Not what I would expect in a place like this. If I am perfectly honest, I am not sure why it's so popular. The view alone can't be it. All in all not unpleasant, nothing terribly wrong but we simply didn't feel it. There were other places in Limerick we enjoyed a lot more.
