Decent food, though some dishes are a little bland. The standout is the regular fish and chips — always fresh and well cooked. Prices aren’t cheap, but the setting and atmosphere on a sunny day make it worthwhile. One thing that consistently irks me is the way staff ask customers to split up at the door — one person to go inside and order, the other to immediately find a table outside. I understand this for larger groups, but when visiting as a pair it feels overbearing and unnecessarily patronising. I’ve seen it create awkward exchanges for plenty of people, needlessly complicating what should be a simple process. And please — bring back the regular soft drinks. That new brand is awful.

Fantastic fish right by the seaside. After a dip in the sea, you just can't beat it. Fresh, simple, well cooked seafood at a fair price for the location. On a sunny day, sit outside and view the beautiful blue while biting into the ocean's bounty. This place can get incredibly busy on a nice day so be prepared to wait in line for quite a while.

Wow, the fish was incredible. Fresh & tasty. Dog friendly, too,l. Water provided in bowls for the animals. Lovely outdoor seating area, and it's great for dogs.

The fish basket helped me out when i was cycling through ireland in june 25. I was exhausted but they had the best food to keep me going. They helped me with food, keeping me dry and much more. Peter is such a great guy. A busy man but still so much hospitality! Thanks a lot. If you’re in the long strand area don’t forget to visit Peter, the fish basket and his best burgers of ireland. Or maybe even the best of Northern Europe.

Situated in the long strand, views overlooking the beach. Parking available along the road & a carpark a minute walk. Outdoor & indoor seating. Merchandise for sale from tea mugs to locally picked strawberries. Friendly staff serving us. Really tasty fresh fish & scampi with chips served with mushy peas and tartar sauce ordered and an ice coffee. Lovely decor inside and lots of outdoor picnic tables overlooking the stunning long strand beach which is sheltered. Great visit and definitely recommend a visit
