Overpriced for what it delivers. The food and service are average, you wont have a terrible experience , just an expensive one.

Update review 24/12/24
Had a great meal on Christmas Eve with the family in the Gables the staff though under pressure with the numbers ensured everyone had a great time. Relaxed but extremely efficient. Diffently a great way to start the festive season.
A Great lunch then stayed to watch Ireland v England match on the big screen. Comfortable seating, good service and great atmosphere and an Ireland win made for a relaxing afternoon and evening. Have to find another excuse to go again.

We were there on Christmas Eve, the team couldn’t have been more helpful efficient and friendly. The food was delicious. We were there for the last sitting. It would have been understandable if they tried to rush us (being Christmas Eve), they didn’t. There is a lovely atmosphere among the team. The best I’ve ever come across.
The new Gables has added hugely to Foxrock Village. It's welcoming exterior is equalled by the fabulous interior. It's great place to go for a coffee/drink and/or meal out. I have eaten dinner and brunch a few times and can recommend.
I have always found the staff to be friendly courteous and efficient.
The food is delicious.
Good food cocktail and Wine menus.

Food was very good overall.
Service was a little slow and it wasn't overly busy (we had to reserve at 1015am) despite being 90% empty at the time of arrival.
Reason for 3/5 on service
- one of our party had ordered fries on the side, they were forgotten until we had all finished (despite us reminding server).
- out of some juices in the morning
- a little abrupt with taking orders and then not knowing who ordered what on arrival.
Value pretty decent for 4 of us and the food was good.

- Nice atmosphere and great bar.
- I explicitly (and multiple times) asked for pasta “al dente”, I was served with the most overcooked linguine ever. Seriously, tasted as a broth. Not a cheap restaurant, they should take these sort of requests more seriously (unless the pasta is precooked, which would be even worse).

Well worth a visit. Lovely lunch and dinner menu....and competitively priced. Service was efficient and friendly and the atmosphere of the restaurant is relaxed and cosy. We had lunch. Toasted sandwiches and quality coffee's. There is a nice outside area too for sunnier days.

Si pudiera dar seis estrellas lo haría. El personal hace que este lugar sea muy especial, pero la comida es igual de buena. El filete más bonito de la historia. Gracias Bronagh, Michael, Jill y el equipo... esperando con ansias nuestra próxima visita 👏🏻👏🏻

Hemos estado aquí en algunas ocasiones, la comida era fantástica y el ambiente era genial.
Lo único negativo fue que el personal no preguntó si todo estaba bien y les resultó difícil llamar su atención por bebidas adicionales.
Ambos tuvimos mejillones, tabla de queso y postres y no podía faltar la comida.
Lo recomendaría encarecidamente y volvería.
