The Green Barn in

Stopped by for a late lunch. Swift service and lovely food. I had the Burger and my wife the salad. Both excellent.

I’ve eaten here a few times. The food is very good and they have a lovely outdoor space, which is great if you are there with children, as they can wander around the garden. There is a separate garden that they charge to visit (even if you’ve spent hundreds of euros in the restaurant). The staff were friendly but the service was extremely slow. We sat down at 2pm and had mains at 3:30pm. It is expensive. Sunday lunch is €55 for 3 courses or €44 for two, plus drinks, and some dishes have a supplement. The 13 hour strip-loin roast was disappointing (€7 supplement) - tasty but tough, the wrong cut for a slow roast in my opinion

The Green Barn cafe lived up to all the raving reviews online. Great service and great food which was very fresh with many of the ingredients coming from their gardens of which the walled garden is right outside the cafe. There is also a good wine and beer selection and they have artisan food and drinks to buy and bring home

We had coffee and scones. Both were excellent. The staff were all lovely. The gardens and surrounding fields are worth a walk around.

Amazing breakfast juices, coffees, and drinks! The whole family is gluten free and they were a very accommodating.

A lovely Sunday brunch with family and friends. Great choice of food, staff were very friendly and helpful. Good value for a 3 course lunch.

Nice place off the n7 near Carlow. Wet and cold day when I visited. I enjoyed the food and atmosphere but I did find it quite cold, so wrap up if going there on cold days.

We had lunch today in this restaurant, and I would just describe it as exceptional! Every meal was well balanced in the combination of the freshest ingredients with the right amount of condiments. Especially we appreciated the Wagyu burger and the crème brûlée. The waiting staff were all very welcoming and hospitable. The restaurant itself has a gracious and warm atmosphere, with rustic yet elegant interior and a splendid view. We also enjoyed browsing through the little shop inside, where among other items, there are some lovely handcrafted soaps. We will definitely be back come summer, to enjoy the views and cuisine.
