Delicious food and great cosmopolitan atmosphere

Lots of average going on here. On a wintery Sunday, we hoped for some Christmas cheer, but it was not to be. We had a starter and a main and the portions were good, in fact too much food for me. Tarte Tatin with goats cheese was very nice. Main of chicken breast was not so good; somehow still contained bone fragments so just a bit careless from chef. Flavour was fine, but crispy shallots were missing. Drinks were very disappointing. No draught beers on despite having a good row of taps. Wine selection very limited and no obvious option of spirits. Decor tired and in need of some care. Overall, really average for 120 Euros i expected better. Service was meh.

Can't recommend this place enough, if I could give 6 stars I would. We had our christmas office party in the private room, amazing food and the best service from Tom and Kate. Today I went for drinks and they were amazing as always.

Like going to a slightly less nice gastro pub that's tried to dress itself up as a French restaurant.

Mi esposa y yo tuvimos una excelente cena aquí hace un tiempo, así que me pareció una buena apuesta para un almuerzo especial con tres viejos amigos. ¡Claro que sí! Estábamos reservados para la 1 de la tarde, pero la dirección no tuvo ningún problema en dejarnos para seguir charlando, sin molestias, hasta que se fueron las 5. La comida estaba deliciosa, como esperábamos, y el menú del almuerzo, con precios fijos para 1 , 2 o 3 platos, muy buena relación calidad-precio. El servicio fue amable, encantador e indulgente, la decoración atractiva. La única crítica leve sería el nivel de ruido, ya que había varios otros partidos pequeños, pero supongo que estábamos contribuyendo a ello. En resumen, una ocasión memorable!

The Green Hen is a lovely restaurant in Dublin. The food is French and just delicious. We had an amazing dinner there. What stands out is that my husband who has health problems had a dizzy spell there and everyone was so helpful. The manager helped my husband outside and was so kind. It felt like family. Good food and good people.
