Dax
Dublin
03/09/2026: We loved our evening at Dax. The food was amazing. Even though its expensive, we felt it was worth it for a special occasion. Service was excellent. At the end, the chef came to our table to ask how the meal was. We hope to return
03/09/2026: Fabulous restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious and so well presented. The staff and Olivier were so warm and friendly. I can't wait to go back!

Chez Max
Dublin
21/07/2026: Bordering on inedible food. The menu reads well but does not deliver and service was slow. The waiter walked past our table that was covered with dirty dishes countless times without glancing over or removing them.
I had the tomato tart and it was hideous. Soggy pastry and soggy tomato.
The beef bourgeoisie was really bad. Chewy meat and just horrible to the point that I left most of it behind.
Avoid, I cannot fathom how this place gets good reviews. Location is great but the book ends there.
20/07/2026: Chez Max is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a relaxed lunch in the heart of Dublin. We stopped in for lunch and came away impressed by both the quality of the food and the value, especially considering its central location.
The sandwich special was outstanding. It was made with fresh, quality ingredients, generously filled and packed with flavour. It was the sort of simple dish that is elevated by good produce and careful preparation rather than unnecessary complexity. The portion size was generous and made for a thoroughly satisfying lunch.
The restaurant has a warm, welcoming atmosphere with the feel of a traditional French bistro. It’s comfortable and unpretentious, making it an easy place to settle in for a leisurely meal while taking a break from sightseeing around the city.
Service was friendly, efficient and attentive throughout our visit. The staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived and ensured everything was delivered promptly without making us feel rushed.
For anyone exploring central Dublin, Chez Max is well worth considering for lunch. Between the excellent sandwich special, quality ingredients, welcoming atmosphere and good value, it offers an enjoyable dining experience that exceeded our expectations. We’d happily return on a future visit and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others looking for a reliable, relaxed lunch in the city centre

The Woodford
Cork
09/08/2026: The food is very good and quite affordable. The service was a bit slow, but they take great care of their customers (they even brought us candy at the end of the service, a small gesture but a nice one). The atmosphere is magical. A truly beautiful Cork pub where we dined with live music (well, that's true). It happens pretty much everywhere, but I have to say that the guy playing, combined with the atmosphere, made the evening very enjoyable. The only complaint was that the air conditioning was on when it was twenty degrees Celsius; it was a bit chilly.
06/08/2026: Ive been drinking Beamish for almost 40 years. I was served by far the worst pint a ever got in my life. At least 30% of the pint was head, and trying to get the staff's attention to rectify it took a bit of time, as all 3 of them were engrossed in a private conversation, backs turned towards the customer's. This was at approximately 11.30 A.M. The Thomand bar on Malbro Street is by far the worst bar I've visited
Highly NOT RECOMMEND

Rouge
Galway
10/08/2026: Superb French restaurant right in the heart of Galway.
The gratin dauphinois accompanying the meat dishes is divine!
The cooking is perfectly executed, and the art of French dining is upheld.
It's a shame we had to choose between the gratin and the vegetables; a selection of both on the plate would have been a real bonus.
The desserts are made by a neighboring pastry shop and are of a high standard.
26/07/2026: Great great atmosphere. Really nice owners. Food is meh !!! Portion sizes are good but the chef lacks the skills if I was being honest.

La Côte
Wexford
06/09/2026: SAMANTHA is a fabulous server! We had the hake and sole dinners then a lemon and coconut dessert. A gem in Wexford for high quality local food in a quaint, boutique style restaurant.
22/08/2026: Dropped in to use a last minute table for 2. Felt welcomed and food and wine were lovely and all for a reasonable price.

Captain House Restaurant
Tullamore
26/07/2026: Perhaps one of the best restaurants in Tullamore, with a wide selection and friendly service. We had delicious meals for two evenings. Rarely have I had such well-prepared seafood tagliatelle; the next day, a rack of lamb (medium rare) that was finger-licking good. Highly recommended.
20/06/2026: Had a delicious meal at a fantastic restaurant. Friendly staff and a very nice atmosphere.

One Pico
Dublin
12/09/2026: Absolutely amazing! From the food to the staff, I can’t go to without mentioning Jirka and his daughter Lola. And the passion fruit soufflé is a must-try.
01/09/2026: Three hours. Four courses. Four different staff to get the bill.
Nearly 30 years of pedigree, a Michelin Guide listing, rave reviews everywhere. So we expected a lot. We didn't get it.
Everything was aggressively salty, and I like salt. The broccolini that came with my dinner tasted like it was boiled in hot dog water and covered in ballpark cheese. And table after table left theirs barely touched. The filet was cooked properly but tough, a bad cut, which at €85+ a head is worse than a temperature problem.
The desserts were the star of the meal; every one finished and enjoyed. But salting is Cooking 101, and a filet that tough starts with the butcher's knife. That's not one slipped dish. That's a kitchen slipping.
Every member of staff was polite. But the service was better at McDonald's. Three hours for four courses means being forgotten between courses by people who are very nice about it. When I asked for the check, one server said "sure," then strolled past us clearing other tables. It took four different staff before anyone took our payment.
An off night, maybe? Except the dining room full of untouched broccolini says otherwise.

Campagne
Kilkenny
25/08/2026: Not an unenjoyable experience, by any stretch, but I couldn't help but feel a little bit disappointed by the quality of the food.
If I had just wandered in off the street with no expectations, I would have enjoyed it more, but knowing that it was a Michelin star restaurant, I was expecting to he wowed, which never happened.
Overall, a decent Sunday lunch but the Michelin star is somewhat perplexing.
28/07/2026: As a birthday treat my son took myself and my wife for lunch at this restuarant.
We arrived just at ppening time at 12.30pm
We got a very warm friendly welcome as we were brought to our table.
The lunch menu for the early bird lunch give you 3 choices for starters, mains and deserts.
Each of us enjoyed different choices for all 3 courses.
The level of detail taken by the chef was extrondery as all dishes were top class.
The level of attention that we received from our waitor was exceptional.
The table settings and comfort was also first class.
I would reccomend this resturant for a special occasion to be spoilt ..
We will be back!

Salt
Cork
09/08/2026: A local restaurant with a decent selection of fusion food. Also, specials available after 17:00.
It’s better to have a reservation.
Only 2 draught beers and a cider on tap.
03/08/2026: Really enjoyed brunch here. The menu is great! We went for a breakfast taco and huevos rancheros and would recommend both. Staff were extremely nice and helpful (despite being very busy!)
Lovely outdoor area which we preferred as it’s a bit loud inside.
Also had the French toast. It was good but nothing special.
