12/04/2026: Chez Max is a very good little French restaurant that's a welcome sight when you arrive in unfamiliar territory, even though I enjoy Irish food! The service is truly excellent (in French) and the cuisine is refined. I recommend it for those who want to discover French cuisine in Dublin and for French people missing their favorite dishes.

06/05/2026: Bizarre meal, service was professional but overbearing and favored posh customers to the point they forgot about us towards the end, not a-lot of room to enjoy the food between being asked if we enjoyed it. Food was aggressively salted with inconsistent seasoning outside of the salt. Flavor pairings were brave but misplaced, the fish was not remotely fresh and a touch overcooked. Venison salted like they wanted to keep the devil out. Had a side that tasted like bacon coleslaw from an American sports bar. Wine list was huge and had some good choices. Seating was jambed into a place that needed more thought on the layout and design. More akin to a place you pop in for an upscale meal than one you place a special occasional reservation at. All together a disappointing show from a highly regarded establishment.

26/04/2026: We had lunch at Dax and truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we arrived, everything felt thoughtful, polished, and genuinely welcoming. The wine was a standout—an exquisite Riesling from Alsace that completely won me over. It was beautifully balanced, not overly acidic, and incredibly smooth. It’s safe to say I’m now a convert. What impressed us most, though, was how attentive and accommodating the team was with our dietary needs. My husband avoids flour and sugar, and I’m lactose intolerant, gluten- and wheat-free, and don’t eat meat. The staff handled this with such care and professionalism, always making sure I knew exactly what I could eat and how each dish would be adapted. It never felt like an inconvenience to them—quite the opposite. The food itself was exceptional. The roasted potatoes were absolutely unforgettable, and the halibut was so light and fluffy we initially thought it had been steamed—it was that delicate and perfectly prepared. Service was impeccable throughout. The chef even came out to greet guests, which added a personal touch that made the experience feel even more special. We noticed every table receiving the same level of attention, with guests being warmly guided out and engaged in friendly conversation as they left. Dax delivers not just excellent food and wine, but a truly memorable dining experience. We’ll definitely be back.

19/04/2026: Fabulous birthday meal here with my mother. My favourite restaurant in dublin. Staff are exceptional. Meal was sublime. So many special touches make this restaurant a stand out. So lovely to see linen tablecloths. Can't wait to go again!

30/04/2026: I dont know what happened.We’ve eaten here 3 times since and its been really poor.We had hoped it was a one off but alas no.Friends have said the same…. Food was absolutely fab.Both of us had a different main and a different dessert.Couldnt fault any of it....I've has to edit this review.Wife said her dinner was one of the best she has ever had. Now with Covid they have being doing take away.I really recommend their fish pie. 2024…still fab

12/04/2026: The food was wonderful, really tasty and well presented. (the pork bite starter was a bit boring in comparison to all the other wonderful dishes, but well cooked and balanced). The atmosphere was great, we were close to the guitar player but the music wasn't intrusive at all, we enjoyed it. The staff were all friendly, efficient and had a good sense of humour. Love that they have a list of their staff members and suppliers in the menu. Great selection of local alcohol too.

05/04/2026: Was here with a large party. Food was excellent.had the spring roll start and monkfish main. Both were some of the best seafood dishes I've ever had. Service was excellent as well

27/03/2026: La Côte Seafood Restaurant Honestly, a complete disappointment. Based on the ratings, I expected quality food, but the reality was completely different. I ordered gnocchi and what I got was undercooked, almost raw in places, and absolutely unacceptable. On top of that, the dish was overloaded with garlic to the point where it completely ruined the flavor – it was impossible to eat. I genuinely don’t understand how something like this can even leave the kitchen. For me, a total fail. Definitely not recommended.

10/05/2026: Floor staff are great, however menu is not developed for substance - nothing remarkable especially given the price point. 6EUR for a double espresso was insane price to pay. 98EUR set menu meant they could have at least ironed the table cloths.

21/04/2026: Lovely authentic French restaurant. Limited menu offering fish of the day, duck, striploin steak or fillet of beef. If cooked rare, it is very bloody. If well done, it can be cinderised. Medium is a good option. Steak tasty, if a little chewy. Other dishes were nice. The starters in particular were delicious, as were the desserts. Piano was playing in the background over a lot of chatter. Very attentive service from an international staff. Our lovely waitress was from Brittany. Great night overall. Popular and busy. It is important to book. Ideal for that special occasion. Merci à tous!

21/03/2026: First time trying this cafe, as every time I have passed before could not gain entry due to how popular it is 😊 Went on a quieter weekday lunch time and had ham & cheese toastie with a white coffee. My friend had veggie burrito and an iced matcha latte. Food is hearty and coffee is good . Staff friendly indoor and some outdoor seating available also. Good veggie and vegan options.

28/03/2026: randomly found this place while looking for a somewhat quiet place to have dinner (it was football day and half of the city watched the game) both my partner and I had Rabbit Bourguignon and it was delicious! the service was great and the waiter let us take a cheese plate for takeaway (we wanted to have a late night snack haha) lovely!

08/05/2026: We had the most wonderful meal at La Province Restaurant in the Sheraton Hotel under its Fabulous Friday deal which was unbelievable value. Our waiter, Matheo, was our host for the night and the young man was an absolute credit to his profession. Matheo looked after us so so well throughout the evening which added to our wedding anniversary weekend. Thank you Matheo and Sheraton.

21/03/2026: Attended recently for a Confirmation. Could not fault it!! The service was amazing and the food was even better. Would definitely return and recommend.

08/03/2026: Me and my wife were treated like royalty by Brid (co-owner) . The meal was amazing, portions were just perfect, the choices on menu were adventurous, we both were full leaving together with a lovely bottle of wine / baileys coffee consumed and the company was amazing also. We had the pleasure of chatting to Gareth after our meal(head chef and co-owner). Lovely people and so down to earth. Guys if want to treat your loved ones to a great night I would recommend Campagne 1 million percent. We will be back definitely. Alan
