Campagne in Kilkenny

This was a birthday treat for me and was my first time in a Michelin starred restaurant. We were running a little late for our booking and called ahead and it was no issue. The staff were so friendly and they were very attentive. The presentation of the food was amazing, such wonderful detail and lovely flavours, we had the early bird which was three courses for 48 euro each. We found this to be reasonable for the dining experience. The starter I had was our favourite dish of the night. Oxtail croquette served in lentils. One word "beautiful". I had lamb for mains and was a little underwhelmed, I didn't like the texture of the lamb and I wasn't a fan of the beans served with the dish but that could be just personal preference. The mash on the side was divine as smooth as silk and very rich and buttery. We ordered two sides cauliflower gratin and chips. Both lovely. I had the milk chocolate tart for dessert and again a little underwhelmed. I expected a nice chocolate taste but the flavour was more a burned caramel flavour. The texture was amazing though and again as smooth as silk. I would definitely go back again and would try something different on the menu.

We’re regular visitors to this gem of a restaurant in Kilkenny . Hands down my favourite “go to” in the country . Seasonal , excellently cooked & never disappointing menu . Small front of house team that executes to perfection .

We’ve been to Campagne many times and it never disappoints. The food; the service and the ambiance are always perfect.

Starter and main were delicious but very small helpings and desert was somewhat disappointing.

We got a voucher as a present and looked forward to using it. The steak was amazing, along with the beautiful mash! Best steak I have had in a long time. We were left with a sour taste in our mouth after asking could we do two courses instead of three as we had a gig to attend & were never big dessert people! The blonde lady told us we should have told them we were “in a rush” when we arrived as “most people” go there and relax! Thought it was a bit of an unnecessary comment to make and made us very uncomfortable . Overall good food and experience but left with a bad experience!

Beautifully composed dishes. The 'Early Bird ' option makes the prices very reasonable/a great value for the quality.

There's literally nothing on the menu that would appeal to me, i can see why its Michelin Star, and the class of customer they want, ya can't beat a normal meal in a pub (Billy Byrnes,Langton's) somewhere in town with a relaxed atmosphere rather than a smug upper class think your better that everyone else atmosphere

Absolutely fantastic food. The staff are very friendly and professional. Very convenient parking right beside the restaurant. I will certainly recommend eating here.

Beautiful experience in Campagne this evening. Exceptional service and sublime food. We opted for the early bird and every last bite was delicious. A credit to all the staff to provide such a wonderful culinary experience. A treat to anyone visiting Kilkenny. Lovely wine selection too. I have wanted to try for a few years now and it certainly lived up to expectations. We will be back!

We went in initially for the early bird but decided to treat ourselves to the main menu. We were delighted with our choice and devoured every delicious morsel put in front of us. A must visit for foodies in kilkenny
