If you’re anywhere near The Grill Shack then this place is absolutely worth a visit. I don’t give too many reviews, but today’s lunch experience was exceptional from start to finish. From the warm and friendly greeting when we arrived, you could immediately feel that this place genuinely cares about its customers. Even though the restaurant was packed, the quality of both the food and the service never dropped for a second. We started with the chicken wings, boneless chicken, garlic bread and onion rings, every dish full of flavour and cooked perfectly. For mains, we had the 10oz beef burger and the pulled pork burger, both of which my son and his girlfriend said were outstanding. As for me, I went for the ribs, and honestly, they were in another league altogether. I picked up the bone and the meat simply slid off, incredibly tender, full of flavour, and cooked to perfection. The portion sizes were excellent, and to top it all off, they even gave my grandson a complimentary baby bowl and ice cream, which was a lovely touch and says a lot about the people behind the business. Great food, great atmosphere, great service, and genuine hospitality. Highly recommend a visit to The Grill Shack 👌

The BBQ Worth Driving Into the Middle of Nowhere For (for Dubliners) I absolutely ing love this place. I discovered The Grill Shack completely by accident after a wandering around Donadea Forest Park. You know how it goes: a nice little hike, some fresh air, and then suddenly hunger hits you. And if we're being honest, food around parks is usually more about convenience than excitement. As a huge meat lover, I wasn't ready to buy a ham and cheese toastie for a tenner. I was looking for some better options and I found it... THE GRILL SHACK The Grill Shack is essentially a farm in the middle of nowhere (for Dubliners) that somehow serves some of the best steaks and meat-related food I've had in Ireland. I've tried plenty of BBQ spots over the years, and this place sits comfortably somewhere on the top of the lists. In fact, there have been days when I've driven all the way to the Donadea area specifically just to eat here. It's a long drive. It's probably really unresonable, but its so worth it. One of the things that makes The Grill Shack memorable is the steak-on-a-stone experience. They bring your steak out rare (slightly cooked) resting on a scorching hot stone, and then you finish cooking it yourself exactly how you like it. You can slice off pieces and continue cooking them until they're WELL DONE. I'd never seen anything quite like it in a Dublin steakhouses or any other BBQ restaurants before, and it instantly turned my meal into something memorable. Quick suggestion... don't wear any white t-shirts when ordering these steaks, the sizzling oil from stone indeed stains your shirt... so be careful. The ribs here are fantastic too... infact writing this review makes me want to have those ribs again. And if you're into spicy food, they've got plenty to keep you hooked. They sell their own hot sauces, which I had to try. I wouldn't call them unbearably spicy, at least not for me, but they've definitely got a respectable kick without completely destroying your taste buds. Speaking of questionable life choices by the way, I also attempted the Reaper Challenge of theirs... What an experience. I can confidently say I'm never doing it again... probably... maybe. But if you enjoy spicy food and like testing your limits, it's worth trying at least once. Its a Reaper pepper in their in-house reaper sauce... absolutely deadly... don't eat it on the empty stomach... trust me... What really elevates the place, though, is the atmosphere. 70-90s music, rough interior design create this family-runned American/Irish BBQ diner vibe. The staff feel like one big family. Everyone seems genuinely happy to be there and see you. The kitchen people are always cheerful, always hyping you up and always willing to answer any questions. There's one guy in particular in the kitchen, possibly the owner, though I'm not sure, he who has enough energy and enthusiasm to power the entire restaurant. Every interaction feels genuine, and that positivity is infectious. The Grill Shack is also surprisingly family-friendly. There's a small field full of donkeys on its promises, which is an instant win if you're visiting with kids. There are outdoor seating areas, and there's even a small playground where children can burn off energy while the adults enjoy their MEEEAT in relative peace. Everybody wins. The only real downside is that public transport access doesn't exist here. You're either driving, or you're not going. That's the deal. If you don't have license yet, get a friend or a family members who can and get your a up her But honestly? The food, the atmosphere, the experience all add up to something special. The Grill Shack is one of the best hidden gems in Ireland's BBQ scene, and one of the few places that can convince me a long drive is a perfectly reasonable thing to do for dinner.

This has been one of my favourite restaurants in a long time. The food was AMAZING. I got the hot honey chicken burger and my mam and her friend ordered the potato skins and chicken tenders. The portions are absolutely massive. Everything is so so soooo tasty. The food was not only gorgeous, but the service was also so pleasant and kind. The atmosphere is wonderful and reflects the staff and food perfectly. I will 100% be coming here again! :)

My only regret about the Grill Shack, was only finding out about it now. Staff were great, food was quality and big portions. Plenty of outdoor seating, small playground for kids, outdoor BBQ for summer and picturesque views of the donkeys and goats in the field
