A wonderful hotel resort in the middle of Ireland. Rooms are exceptionally comfy and breakfast is a must. WiFi is okay but questionable speed.

The hotel is in a lovely setting, which made for a pleasant arrival. Check-in was straightforward, though it could have been a little warmer. Breakfast was ordered from the menu; my pancakes were fine, but the fruit compote wasn’t to my taste. The spa had a nice atmosphere, though it was quite busy, and while enjoyable, I’m not sure it offered the best value for money. The 5km walk was lovely around the golf course.

We stayed for two nights which was nice clean and tidy the bar was a bit chaotic a lot of young staff with no bar manager Blake's restaurant for dinner and breakfast was brilliant food was delicious and the staff were so helpful and friendly the spa was a disaster we went for two hot stone massages which were terrible the two male therapists were bad hadn't a clue how to do hot stone when you're paying €85 each you expect a nice hot stone massage more training need .

Decent auld spot with a Seve Ballesteros designed golf course; so unsurprising it has a load of bunkers, and it must be hard to keep these in good shape, stone free etc. stunning view of the 18th hole from the clubhouse bar.

The Thatch

03/09/2025: Extremely satisfied with the service we received at the thatch, I had soup which was delicious. My guests had chicken wings and Caesar salad which looked very appetising and large portions. My BBQ ribs for my mains were very tender and extremely tasty. Would have loved to have had dessert but I was totally stuffed, my friend had pavlova with was nearly enough for the six of us. Tom was very warm and friendly and made us feel very welcome as did the rest of the staff. Would highly recommend this establishment.
14/07/2025: Ribs and wings were good for starters, Steak was supposed to be medium rare but was way too thin to be anything but well done. Frozen chips didn't impress. Sweet and sour chicken had very little chicken in it

20/03/2025: The best food ever, nice place friendly staff good drinks its all you need!!! I highly recommend to everyone, you won't be disappointed! I will be back with pleasure.
