Went today with my partner and our 2 children. The girls working there was so friendly and helpful and offered a great atmosphere in the place! We were all delighted with the food which was prompt and delicious, such a lovely local surprise for us and we will definitely be back!

I used to come to this cafe when it was a greasy spoon cafes "Amber cafe" from when I was a child. I came back to my childhood town and just like last summer I went for a second experience breakfast here and I completely have great words and completely recommend anyone wanting a nice breakfast experience to come here! 😊 The two young ladies who work here are very friendly andnmake it's nice place to come and sit and eat. I'll back over no doubt in the summer time

We often come here for breakfast on weekends , the food is lovely , staff is wonderful. I think it can be a little overpriced and too noisy. It’s very hard to carry out a conversation and hear the person next to you talking. This can be a little frustrating while trying to enjoy breakfast. The waiting time is very long to get a seat. I order coffee with vegan milk and 80% of the time they use regular milk and it’s frustrating to have to ask and wait longer for a new coffee. Overall it’s a lovely place and food.

My partner and I stop in often for brunch on a weekend before a day out in Blanch. The food is delicious I would highly recommend the spinach hash with poached eggs. There is something for every mood savoury breakfast, pancakes, or lunch. It’s a very cosy space that seems to always be busy. The staff and the coffee are always lovely. Already looking forward for my next visit, cannot recommend enough.

Very chilled. Amazing food (we got an open chicken and pulled ham toasty) and so fresh. Whatever loose tea they served is very tasty. I definitely recommend getting a pot! Can't wait to return and try their breakfast and desserts next πŸ˜‹

The Dropping Well

21/07/2026: I attended a lunch with about 70 people yesterday at the Dropping Well. The lunch was to celebrate the memory of my parents-in-law. The food and service were absolutely excellent and we were warmly welcomed as everyone arrived and took their seats. The menu offered three courses including dessert platters. Trish Roddy, the brilliant front-of-house manager, was a true professional and a delight to work with in helping my partner to arrange the event including drinks throughout the meal. The establishment is situated close to the river Dodder with beautiful views along its banks. It was also great value for money. I highly recommend the Dropping Well for any occasion.
