The Hunted Hog, menu in Castlemartyr

It was a quiet Tuesday, however the atmosphere and service were very good considering the poor weather and few people in the pub

Didn't make a reservation but they were able to seat us with no issues (2 adults and a 2.5 year old). The first young man that seated us, got our drinks, took our order, and delivered our food was great. Then we never saw him again. He nor anyone ever came over to see if we needed anything or how the food was. We wanted dessert, I asked a staff member I saw walking by for a menu; never got one. I went to the bar and got a menu and ordered with a different staff member, another different person brought our dessert. We waited and waited but no one ever brought our bill, I finally went to the bar and paid so we could leave. The place was steady but I wouldn't call it busy as there were lots of open tables and bar stools. Maybe short staffed? Food was excellent and inside it has a good feel and atmosphere but service was meh.

James was a great host! Gave us advice for the full weekend. Very friendly!

Fish taco was absolutely delicious. Fire wasn't lit on one of the coldest nights of the past year which was disappointing. Grub and drinks were top class though. Visited two nights in a row.

When I booked, for a lunch on 31st Dec, for a group of 12, I was not told that they had two seatings, and so this was a surprise when we arrived and were told. Also, our table of 12 was split into 2 tables of 6 people. Really? The waitron was quite surly and refused to make a plan. So we made a plan, and had a great lunch.

If you look for a cosy place for a drink or a meal, the Hunted Hog is a great choice.. and the menu has a choice of plates quite different from any other restaurant I have been in Ireland, so much recommended

Little gem of a place. Food was a lot better than pub grub, scampi and arancini balls were delish. Guinness was on point and the staff were just the cherry on top. Whoever is hiring there, you're doing a great job. Super sweet, friendly and helpful. Thanks :)

Food served fresh & hot. Typical pub menu, limited in selection available. Staff is very friendly & attentive to our needs. Could lose the TV which distracted from conversation......
