Lovely meal and atmosphere for our anniversary meal. Vincent was our waiter, he was very attentive and chatty. Food was great, really tasty and good that bang bang chicken is back on the menu.

Visited Ivy on Sunday for brunch: latte was cold and without foam, avocado Benedict was ok, French fries - good. Service - rude and unfriendly. I had very high expectations about place, but it turned out to be disappointment

Top place to eat with awesome service and excellent food. The menu is not too big so as to be overwhelming but covers a broad spectrum of choices. There is a large wine list and some fine cider and beer available too. Make sure you book a table as this place is busy!!

Always a great place to go. I note that there has been a big increase in price since I was last there.

This was my first time in The Ivy. I had dinner. I was with a friend and we shared. We started with tuna sashimi and tempura prawns. We then had fish and chips and a steak and rum baba as a dessert. The food was good. The atmosphere and the service great.

Five star dining experience, even gave a retrospective conversion rate on our Sterling voucher. But okay, let's be a little more specific here: 1. Food - the prawn starter was excellent, nice firm prawns, not of the langoustine variety so beloved of chefs these days. Calamari was delicately crumbed and also high quality, and quite generous portion 2. My main was 'blackened cod' served with thimble-sized tastes and - let me count them, yes - two pieces of tenderstem broccoli. I forgot to order a side - and I was not prompted to by the server (not so good..). In all honesty, that cod appeared to have been caramelised in soy sauce - salty and all-over-in-a-minute nugget-sized. There was a smear of white indistinguishable sauce and a correction mark of something else. Lovely presentation, true, but, well, you know...I won't comment on the other mains in our foursome, but I heard no complaints... 3. Desserts selection was the first indication that we were visiting in the Christmas season - LOOK, sez I, Christmas Pudding! One of the party went for it and it was truly the 'Event Du Jour' - a showy heating of a one-seater copper pot preceded the flambeing and addition of a dollop of cream. I remember something coconutty for myself?? Coffees were the right temperature - and, combined, the constituent parts all made for a (close to) 5 star experience. As we all live outside the city, there was no drinking done, except for some very crisp prosecco and some nicely chilled zero beer. Service was attentive and personal as one would expect in this sort of establishment: from the staff taking coats at the entrance, you were made to feel welcome and valued by every one, so top marks there. Atmosphere and Ambiance are all down to the lush decor which sets the Ivy apart from its competitors, it is quite the showstopper for its colour and buzz! I have been a regular visitor to Dawson Street for 50+ years now and The Ivy truly adds to the Street's cache as Grafton Street's Big Brother. Bravo!

Having been a fan of the Ivy chain for a few years, a colleague booked the Ivy in Dublin for a small dinner. The menu seems to be very similar although I sorely missed the soufflé as a starter. The shredded and deep fried courgette was OK, but more of a shared plate and a bit lacking in flavour. In retrospect I wish I’d opted for the beetroot. The waiter was rather more perfunctory than personal, but to be fair, the restaurant was very busy. Overall it was a nice evening and the food was good, but less memorable than my Ivy experiences in London & Cambridge.

fountian fish n chips

09/01/2025: Mary does the best coffee and bites in Blackrock.
17/12/2024: Italian deli in Blackrock village, a hidden gem ! Great selection of cakes and deli options. Panini / wraps are freshly made with fresh ingredients and bread for €6.50. Certainly one of Corks best deli spots. Highly recommend !
