No. 35
Kenmare
06/07/2025: Top quality food and great service. You won't be disappointed.
01/07/2025: What an incredible restaurant that is a must visit if in Kenmare. Neil the host was very welcoming and extremely accommodating. I am a vegetarian with additional dietary requirements and find eating out extremely challenging. Nothing was too much trouble and I had a delicious pear and blue cheese salad followed by an amazing mushroom pasta. The other starters and mains ordered by the other members of our party were of the same high standard. Obviously all made inhouse by their resident chef with fresh ingredients. When our deserts arrived, my mother's had a candle in it and Neil sang happy birthday, which made our evening extra special.
Be sure to book ahead to guarantee a table.

Sage
Westport
16/06/2025: There is always a good buzz in Sage. Eva is very welcoming, the staff is attentive, and Shtreyo's cuisine is inventive, offering choice Irish local ingredients prepared with Eastern European flair. Good selection of wines, including their native Bulgarian samplings. Our favourite restaurant in Westport.
29/05/2025: We had a really great meal while on our honeymoon in Westport recently. The menu is varied and very intriguing, with a great selection of vegetarian options which can be hard to come by in Ireland. The dishes were superb, with my particular favourite being the cod main course. The bread, sorbet and petits fours were lovely touches, and the staff were so friendly. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Carpe Diem
Bray
14/07/2025: Great salads and panini. Delicious cakes and desserts. Daily hot food options available and fabulous coffee. Very friendly, highly recommended.
10/06/2025: Stopped by here for lunch and the lady was very nice she even moved tables around for us to accommodate us without having to ask. The sandwiches and cannolis were really tasty, my only gripe was a person came in with a big dog and it seems like the owners have no problem with that, I just don't think animals should be sitting where people are trying to eat, especially when it was such a small place.

Goldie
Cork
20/06/2025: Simply the best restaurant in Cork and probably one of the most memorable meals I’ve ever experienced.
16/06/2025: Superb. Everything about this place - the food, the flavours, the ethos, the people, the atmosphere - hits the right note. One of the best restaurants in Cork and Ireland. Can't wait to go back!

Catch of the day
Kinsale
02/07/2025: I honestly never fancied the Fish and Chips concept: found it a tad bit too bleak for my taste, however, these guys have something really fresh, juicy and unique. It’s safe to say that this is one of the best in Ireland. 100% recommended.
21/06/2025: Best fish and chips in town. Great service and good prices.

Hemmingways
Dublin
12/07/2025: Best seafood I've had in Dublin. Would definitely visit again.
28/06/2025: I was in Hemmingway's last night with my wife for an unbooked and unplanned one-couse meal at 20:30.
Michelle was doing front-of-house on her own: meet and greet, taking food and drinks orders, delivering food and drinks, clearing tables etc. for a total of eight tables!
What a legend! So friendly and efficient.
Plus the food was fab! I had the Seafood Paella and my wife had the Tempura Prawns. Both were yummy and excellent value for money.
A well-deserved 5 stars! ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Ard Bia at Nimmos
Galway
15/06/2025: Love this place. We got lucky and walked in for late lunch with little wait but it can get pretty busy. Dinner you almost have to have a reservation. The place has character. The drawers on the tables are full of notes from prior patrons. The food was so good. The french toast with peaches and mascarpone. The bread was so soft it almost melted in your mouth. The eggplant vegetarian dish was also quite good. The spiced beef was like korean kalbi-jjim with international twist, on a pita with leafy greans and other veggies. The kimchi pancakes were also delicious. Hot chocolate was pure chocolate but not too thick. Would love to go back.
14/06/2025: The food is something special, but the service is terrible. I don’t know why the staff thinks forcing people to know that they “have to be out by 8” when it’s 7 and they are trying to order dessert is supposed to accomplish, but it’s so poorly handled it’s pathetic.

Stoked
Strandhill
13/07/2025: Great spot in Strandhill. The. Tapas are tasty. Much bigger portions so we could have ordered a lot less. The chicken curry and aubergine were our favourites followed by the steak. Pork Boas also worth a try.
06/07/2025: Gnocchi was best I’ve ever tasted. Calamari best in Ireland. Can’t rate the Sushi or Scallops highly enough either.

Reel Dingle Fish
An daingean
17/07/2025: This is a take-away--and do stop in for take-away. The staff there is friendly, informative, sweet and funny. There were many choices for the fish--haddock and hake, yes. And several more--I had the monk fish. Oh, so delicious. The chips are crispy on the outside, soft and luscious inside. I'm a vinegar and salt lover, so that was my choice. There are picnic tables and walls to sit on at the harbor. Some pubs will allow the food if you order a drink. I sat by the water--and watched the boats and enjoyed the beauty and devoured this delicious late lunch.
16/07/2025: Stopped by on a Tuesday afternoon. We'd had a recommendation that this was the best chipper! And it was.
Hake and cod were sweet and tasty. Chips were excellent. And don't pass up the homemade curry and tartar!

Killybegs seafood shack
Killybegs
14/07/2025: Got the seafood box with chips which had 2 pieces of fried fish, 3 breaded shrimp and some calamari rings. Both the battered and breaded fish were fried perfectly and it's hard to choose which I liked better. The chips were light, crispy and lovely! And can't go wrong with the garlic mayo, nice creamy garlic to contrast the fresh lemon. Weather cooperated and it was a beautiful day to sit in the patio behind the shack.
13/07/2025: Very good fish and chips! Friendly guys that make the food!

The Creel
Westport
02/07/2025: This place is so cute. The kid friendliness was so great. The food was also amazing. I got the pancakes and they were so thick and fluffy! I do recommend
26/06/2025: We landed into The Creel right at the peak of lunchtime madness, fully expecting to be turned away or told to perch on a bench and pray. But no — the lovely waitress worked some kind of hospitality magic and squeezed us in. Saints in aprons, the whole lot of them. Every single staff member we encountered was absolutely lovely, with top-tier customer service and smiles so genuine I nearly cried into my napkin.
Now, my friend came carb-loading for her gym session later that day, her bold shoulders graciously disguised under a classic pump cover. She absolutely demolished her food with grace and gusto while I waffled on about my life updates. So attentive was she to both her plate and my rambles, I nearly applauded.
She even got a coffee with her meal AND for the road — that’s how good it was.
As for me? I took a bold culinary risk and went for the Chicken Parmigiana, a dish I’d usually sidestep because tomatoes, in my view, are often just flung at food with reckless abandon. But I was wrong. So wrong. It was divine — balanced, comforting, and just what I didn’t know I needed. Life’s about risks, and this one paid off like a scratch card in Lidl.
The chips? Beautifully crispy.
The side salad? Actually seasoned and dressed, which tells you the kitchen really cares.
(Speaking of dressing — unlike my friend who whipped off her pump cover mid-meal to flash the guns. We love confidence and chlorophyll.)
The location is a solid 10/10 — you're a stone’s throw from Westport House, perfect for walking off your meal and your emotional baggage. And to top it off, I washed mine down with a gorgeous Irish-made pink lemonade that made me feel like I had my life together.
Prices? More than reasonable for the quality you’re getting.
Verdict? Go. Run, don’t walk. Maybe even do a bicep curl on the way.

24/06/2025: Lovely Guesthouse, fabulous location. Food was excellent in the Restaurant evening and breakfast. Room was spacious, lovely view. Just needed some biscuits with the tea & coffee making facilities, would be nice and needed a bath mat in ensuite.

Finns' Table
Kinsale
08/05/2025: We had a fabulous meal that we won't soon forget. There were 8 of us and the service was perfect. Our steaks were so tasty and the sides were delicious.
29/04/2025: This is no ordinary restaurant as the staff's friendliness, knowledge and and all round level of service, plus the quality of the food enjoyed by all in my party made our visit a dining experience. You will not regret eating here.
