Sage in Westport

What ever expectations I had were massively exceeded. I have never been to Westport before but my Mam strongly recommended this place for a food experience. It was 100% a food experience that still left you feeling full and the flavour explosions just kept coming. If you are a fan of seafood and you see it on the specials, get the seafood plate you will not regret it. The staff were absolutely fantastic as well. It absolutely lives up to the rewards it has gotten over the years.

A wonderful restaurant with great service and even better food! I was passing through and wanted a bite to eat. That's when I stumbled upon SAGE and was immediately impressed by the ambiance and the warm welcome. I received excellent advice, and my request to order two appetizers and enjoy one as a main course was met with a smile. A good wine, a delicious dessert, and the many thoughtful touches between courses perfectly rounded off the experience! In the end, I was very full and happy after such a delicious meal! Anyone who thinks you can only eat fish and chips in Ireland should definitely visit SAGE in Westport. This prejudice is utterly disproven here! Thank you for the wonderful time, the friendly service, and the fantastic food!

Had a great meal at Sage. Every course was delicious as well as the wine. The bread, palate cleansers and sweet treats at the end were lovely touches.

A relaxing atmosphere that creates comfort.

The food here was overall quite excellent, and exceeded not only my expectations but also the meals I had at several other very highly rated restaurants in Galway, etc. However, the service was painfully lacking, with the restaurant not even half full. Our empty starter dishes sat in front of us for over 15 minutes, and then we waited with dirty main course dishes on the table for another 20 minutes after finishing eating. I understand they only have one server, but if one person can't provide service, then it seems one isn't enough. I looked around and saw the same issue happening at other tables and people wanting to relax and chat finding they had nowhere to place their hands or having to stop themselves when going to lean in because they were blocked by dirty dishes. It was weird at a place that purported to be fine dining. Furthermore, the restaurant was absolutely freezing. We were seated towards the back, away from the door, and I still couldn't take my coat off. Folks at other tables removed their coats, and then had them back on within 10 minutes or so. It made it hard to enjoy the experience, which was a shame, given the quality of the food and preparation.

Everything you hear is true, it is a fantastic restaurant.

I'd be surprised if there's a better restaurant in Westport. Amazing food, great atmosphere and the service was top notch too. Some lovely additional touches...sorbet and a digestif. Book in advance

Not your typical dinner menu. Creative and delicious food equated with fine dining. Thought given to portions and not overloading the starches. It’s all about tastes and providing quality food. Wine options are excellent, but it is best to ask which pairs best with your meal choices. Will definitely be making a reservation and returning when in the area.

Our group of four friends have come back again to Sage! As before, we had a fabulous meal and pleasant and efficient service! Would highly recommend Sage! 🙌👏
