03/10/2026: The Ivy was nice enough, but honestly, nothing special for the price. The food was okay, but I felt it was very overpriced for what it was. Overall, it was an average experience, and I wouldn’t say it lived up to the hype. There are plenty of places where you could get a similar experience for a much more reasonable price.

29/09/2026: The food was excellent and I had a really good time, this was my second time going to The Ivy. It was my sisters Birthday and the waitress Jose Antonio was excellent with us.

25/08/2026: There are no areas where a resident can sit and relax without queueing for a table in the bar/restaurant. Not what you expect with a 'hotel'. It's more like a bar/restaurant with rooms overhead. The breakfasts were not great. The staff in the breakfast area were totally untrained, tables were not cleaned between the customers, incorrect orders brought, total lack of interest in the customers. The hotel is in a beautiful area. It's a pity about the set-up and service.

09/06/2026: Disappointing stay- as a returning guest I will not return anymore. Check in got off on a poor note. We travelled 3hrs to the hotel in bad weather conditions, arrived late in the evening. We were left standing at reception while the receptionist engaged in general chit chat with a guest from the bar who stood drinking his pint. No problem waiting, but we were not even acknowledged until they were done chatting after some time. We were then informed of a power outage. No back up generators were available, we checked into our dark room and could not use the toilet or shower facilities due to no power. The receptionist advised we could travel to a town 30min away for evening dinner as this town may have electricity. The power had been out for some time, I felt it may have been an option for the hotel to contact guests who had not yet checked in and inform them re food provisions. As mentioned we travelled 3hrs and had driven past the town suggested to us for dinner. That said, the receptionist was obliging and phoned us to say the power had returned. We turned and went back to the hotel for dinner. This was highly disappointing. I sent my meal back as the chicken was half hot and half cold in the middle. My partners meal also fell far below acceptable standard especially for the cost. A burger from a takeaway would have been better standard as the bun crumbled it was so burned. Some of our food was dropped to the incorrect table also and was not prepared until after we had finished our meal. However, the wait staff were extremely helpful and friendly and apologetic of the situation. We did not have to pay for some of the meal. Our room was extremely hot and stuffy even with windows open during the night. At 6am in the morning we realised we were in an adjoining family room, as we woke to a young child crying. The noise appeared extremely close due to only having a door in the room separating us from the family. €225 for a room only rate, hugely disappointing and poor value for money. We stayed approximately 4years ago and returned due to having had a positive experience and enjoying our stay. We had also eaten in the restaurant during this stay and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Receptionist on check out did not ask how our stay was and allow the opportunity for feedback. Limited in accommodation in Schull doesn’t leave much options for alternative accommodation, I would suggest travelling from a nearby town instead of staying in this particular overpriced, underwhelming accommodation.

04/08/2026: We had the pleasure of spending some time in this amazing place during the Bray Air Display. We were able to watch the show and try one of the best fish and chips places around. The fish bar is part of a larger pub, they don't offer takeaway and seating is limited, but the people are so nice that they will invite you over to share a table with them. The service is quick, and the portion size was more than enough for me, not to mention the flavours, which are truly unique!

24/07/2026: (2024) Honestly best fish and chips in a long time. Could be a few more chips. But hey I don't wanna become a fat bloke either. Fish was super delicious. (2026) Ate here a second time. And like the first time fish was just super yummy. And the portion chips was bigger this time. 😍

24/08/2026: I’m really upset with this place, they charged almost DOUBLE of the food, I paid €24,50 for half fried rice that in the menu was €12,50 and they charged me €12 extra and the food wasn’t that good. I am really really upset with that, they have to pay attention to this. Look what I paid almost €25 for and this price with NO DRINKS

02/09/2026: We had an absolutely great time at Flanagan’s Bar. Our tour group spent the night in Lahinch and hit Flanagan's Bar. The service stood out right away — friendly, quick, and genuinely welcoming in that classic Irish coastal‑town way. The staff made the whole experience feel relaxed and easy. One of the highlights was the pop‑up group of musicians who started playing while we were there. It was a scheduled performance — but the individuals had never played together before. Just a spontaneous session that filled the place with energy. The music, the atmosphere, and the crowd all blended into one of those perfect Irish pub moments you hope to stumble into. Great drinks, great people, and a great vibe. Flanagan’s is exactly the kind of spot that makes Lahinch special.

17/08/2026: Absolutely awful coffee! Won't return there again

20/09/2026: The fish was rubbery, and very chewy. Either reheated, or was kept warm on the counter. Excessive batter, making the fish appear to be large. The wooden forks they supplied couldn't penetrate it! The tables were sticky, with a thick layer of grime on them. Didn't finish our food, and left. For a £50 family dinner, the standard was far below what it should have been.

15/09/2026: I’ve been here many times for days in Barry and it’s a 50/50 mix if you get bones or not apart from that really good fish and chips shops
