16/10/2025: Medicore food, fishiest prawns I've ever eaten and no crushed nuts on the Pad Thai!? Sacrilege. Much better food in Dublin for a more reasonable price too!

08/09/2025: Went to this place yesterday. Seems like a family-run restaurant, run by an old man and his wife. The old man was very polite and also served us very well. He was also super considerate by mentioning about the ingredients in a certain dish weren't suitable for vegans. The food tasted amazing, seemed authentic, and was quite-filling too. The restaurant gave a very homely vibe, which I liked quite a bit. Would definitely visit the restaurant again if I have the opportunity to.

11/12/2025: Honestly didn't think I would like this, I had the classic tuna dish for lunch and I was blown away. The portion I thought mount fill me up but I was very wrong, I could barely finish and the flavor was off the charts.

02/12/2025: The absolute best food. I was in Galway for only two nights and I ate here both nights. The service is very good and it’s a quiet, clean nice restaurant.

29/11/2025: We had some of the homemade pulled noodles and the tofu dumplings as the starter. The food was quite tasty in general, lots of veggies in the main and tender beef. The only drawback was that it was not hot, which is quite unusual for Chinese cuisine. The vegetarian dumplings could have more veggies inside as well.

01/01/2026: Food was bland 😕 The service and atmosphere was okay but it’s really nothing special.

01/01/2026: A group of 9 attended the Ivy over Christmas for a family birthday, 90th, the problems started from the time we arrived, the table we were given only sat 8, we were told by a manager that they were short staffed and there was nothing they could do, we had to squeeze to fit us all in. The starters and desert were lovely but unfortunately the mains were not so good. Several of us ordered the fish which was only warm, on person ordered a steak, they requested medium, but it came out blue. The sides were not delivered until most of us had finished the mains. The young waiter who served us was very nice, attentive and apologised to us from the time we sat down. I have been at the Ivy several times before, as had another member of the party and unfortunately after this experience we will not be returning.

04/11/2025: Great place sadly it's closed on a Tuesday in winter. I have put the opening hours on this review for future reference.

06/10/2025: Brilliant bar with a great atmosphere and very welcoming! Staff were chatty and great fun. The bar around the back is big and good fun! Would definitely recommend.

30/11/2025: Amazing little coffee shop with fantastic espresso and baked goods! Highly recommend getting a cup to go before walking the River Lee if in the Blackrock area.

24/10/2025: Delicious coffee and pastries/cakes. The gelato is great too.

29/06/2025: Wollte zur "Happy Hour" ein paar kleine Austern verspeisen und hatte mich wirklich schon gefreut...setze mich hin und bestelle 6 Stück...nach 5min kommt der Wein, leider keine Austern dazu. Nach weiteren 15min höfliche Nachfrage, es dauert noch weil andere Bestellungen vor mir. Nach weiteren 20min immer noch keine Austern, auf Nachfrage "es würde nicht mehr lange dauern", Wein nachgeordert mit dem dezenten Hinweis, dass der wohl hoffentlich aufs Haus geht. Nach weiteren 15min (kein Witz) kamen dann endlich 6 schlecht geöffnete Austern, mein Wein war leer und es gab auch keinen Nachschlag. Beim Zahlen dann auch keine Happy Hour und auf dann eher verärgerte Nachfrage nach dem "Wein aufs Haus", insgesamt 38€ für 6 mickrige Austern und zwei zeitversetzte Weinchen und eine Stunde Zeitaufwand. Unglaublich und wirklich sehr enttäuschend, hat mir den Nachmittag ordentlich verdorben.

17/06/2025: Sehr leckere, frische Meeresfrüchte und Fisch. Alle Gerichte waren sehr lecker! Zuvorkommender Service. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder! 😊

17/08/2025: Third time here. Absolutely gorgeous lunch. Tried the potted crab as a starter between two. I had scampi and fries for main and hubby had the fish and chips. My absolute No. 1. Won't be beaten.

17/08/2025: Great! Nice food, nice restaurant and great scenery! Nice waitors and you get great service. The tempo was a bit too quick between starter and main.

10/06/2025: Restaurant idéalement situé au bord de l’océan. Nous avions réservé notre table à l’avance, heureusement car il y avait beaucoup de monde. Le personnel était efficace et sympathique et la nourriture délicieuse. Très bonne adresse.

09/06/2025: Our introduction to monks was, if we wanted to eat on the deck we would have to come inside to order and bring our own food and drinks out. We were home from Canada and it had been a number of years since I had been to Monks. The service was rude and abrupt. The Guinness was great. The crab claw starter was excellent. My sister had asked for a salad dressing on the side and was told if it was made then no she couldn’t. The triple fried frozen chips with my not fresh catch of the day was very disappointing as was having to wait and wait for the server to come back to pay.
