This spot was very popular and busy, so I was curious to try it. It did not disappoint. I got a mixture of cod, scampi and squid rings, and everything was delicious, well seasoned and not too greasy. The chips were so crunchy but not dry, which is just how I like them. The staff were also extremely friendly. I would definitely go back the next time I’m in Killybegs!

Delicious scampi, haddock, coleslaw! The staff is cheerful and nice. Recommend to anyone who likes good seafood. The calamari rings are a bit blank from my point of view but maybe it’s how Irish cook it. I had similar experience in Carrick-on-Shannon.

Boathouse Restaurant

12/07/2026: Great food, but the day we went was a hot day. The restaurant was stiflingly hot and they seen to have a problem with insects. We all spent the whole night sweating and trying to fend off hoardes of hungry flies. Spoiled it for us. At the end we were glad to get outside for some cool air and to get away from the flies. Shame as it's such good food. Please invest in a fly zapper or something.

19/08/2026: A cozy little café with a variety of cakes and a small breakfast/lunch menu. The coffee was good, and the staff was friendly. Good value for money.
