My most visited and my most favorite cafe in Ireland, especially for brunch or breakfast. Their French toast and smoked tuna dishes are my absolute faves. Highly recommended. Please note - you might be standing in a queue as they don't take reservations for breakfast

I really wanted to love this place. On paper, the menu was really interesting. The Flavours were good. Unfortunately my dish was just too greasy. Pic attached. Not sure if it was from the pesto or the potato hash itself, but it completely took away from the dish. My husband’s pork belly sandwich was good. I would go back but I’d ask for pesto on side..

Ard Bia at Nimmo’s was one of the highlights of our time in Galway and a place I’d happily return to. Set beside the water in a charming historic building, it has a relaxed atmosphere that makes it an ideal choice for a leisurely lunch. I ordered the mackerel, which was outstanding. It was incredibly fresh, beautifully balanced and packed with flavour. The quality of the ingredients really stood out, and the dish showcased exactly why Ireland has such an excellent reputation for seafood. It was one of the best lunches we enjoyed during our trip. The setting adds enormously to the experience. Whether you’re seated inside the character-filled dining room or looking out towards the water, the restaurant has a warm, welcoming feel that encourages you to slow down and enjoy your meal. It’s the sort of place that feels popular with both locals and visitors, which is always a good sign. The staff were another standout. Everyone we encountered was genuinely friendly, welcoming and attentive without being overbearing. Service was efficient while still feeling personal, creating a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience from beginning to end. If you’re visiting Galway, Ard Bia at Nimmo’s is well worth making time for. Between the excellent food, beautiful setting and warm hospitality, it offers everything you could want from a memorable Irish lunch

Some of the best plates that I ever eaten. Incredible flavors and textures. Lots of attention, skills (that perfectly cooked cod), efforts, and passion are on display here. It is super popular so booking is essential or try your chances at 6pm when they open.

Wonderful food and staff. Very crowded in the summer and it was very hot when we were there. I had the cod and my wife had the ploughman's lunch. Both were really really good. We'll be back, but outside of tourist season.

You must eat here while visiting Galway! You definitely need a reservation. We ordered the side bread as a starter which was amazing and had different kinds of bread, the ricotta dish, steak, and a bottle of wine. So good!!! The food came out so fast. We also ordered the chocolate mousse for dessert, forgot to take a picture but it tasted amazing.

Staff were really nice but the food was a let down, granola bowl was supposed to come with pear compote but was just some chopped up pear thrown on and very uninspiring (I didn’t expect much though as was going for the lightest option). Maybe the other main dishes were better but they’d also run out of quite a few items which wasnt great given how small the menu is and the price of the dishes. Wouldn’t bother waiting over an hour again for food here, but the kombucha was nice!

14/07/2026: Didn't expect to find good hand pulled noodles in Galway. We went for Saturday lunch, after realizing that every other Irish pub was full. No regrets this place was clean, quiet, and the food and service was great.
12/07/2026: Really enjoyed this restaurant today. Great menu selections and with 6 at the table a nice selection was ordered and we got to try every option. Very tasty food and great portions. 6 adults mains , several sides and several starters and some beers and minerals €170.
