A massive thank you to Aileen and all the staff who were so accommodating and helpful. The cocktails were fantastic and the atmosphere was warm and cosy. I would highly recommend to any group that wants to catch up over delicious food and perfect cocktails in a central location.

Cute little tucked away place upstairs with a very cozy vibe. Saturday night was packed with lovely people enjoying a great night. The staff were very overwhelmed and hard to get service. I think on a less busy evening with more staff this place could be enjoyable. Our service was pretty bad, so I probably wouldn't recommend based on how we were treated. The oysters were also so incredibly small compared to all the other oysters we have had on this trip.

We stopped here for a glass of wine and a cocktail. The grapefruit cocktail was very nice, and my husband enjoyed his wine. He said the oysters were good, but he wasn't too sure about the sage and buttermilk for the oysters. Fabulous art adorns the walls!

Hughes Pub

19/10/2025: Lovely old style pub which I visited when I was home on holiday. I brought my mother there as this was the pub my father used to drink in years ago.
28/09/2025: Great pub, hyped for the Guinness and rightfully so, full of proper friendly locals, highly recommended.

Skeffington Arms

15/05/2026: We had booked a 13 hour bus trip from Dublin to the Cliffs of Moher but got off in Galway and had booked a night at the Skeffington Arms Hotel. It's perfectly located for Shop Street, the main street in Galway, but also convenient distance to the walking paths along the River Corrib that divides the city on the way to Galway Cathedral. The staff were as everywhere in Galway and Dublin nice and helpful. Good rooms although the view of a tiny cavity at the back of the hotel was not great, but just a one night stay. We heard the music from the bar when we arrived at the hotel at midnight, but our room was far enough away from it that we were not disturbed. Breakfast includes hot options that the waiter takes your order for when you're seated. There should be information about that because we and many others we saw were very disappointed with the other breakfast options that was laid out, deducting a star. Maybe just a temporary problem as it was apparently a temporary room for breakfast when we were there in May 2026?
07/01/2026: Great location and a very good breakfast at the pub next door, which is also part of the hotel.
