The Make & Mark in Portlaoise

Went to the make and mark with my family of 17 people and had nothing but amazing service. Everyone really enjoyed all their starters, mains and desserts. Staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough to help. The presentation of the food was fantastic and came out piping hot. Couldn’t ask for better. Edel was amazing and a real pleasure to talk to. I’m there a lot and will be coming back loads more. Well done make and mark you always do a fantastic job and have great service!!!

What a fantastic spot , right from the door to the table the staff were on point . What stood out for me is something that's not done today and it s great to see , a warm welcome with a smile brought to table and informed that the table is needed at a certain time and to add plenty of time too to enjoy a relaxed meal not rushed (great touch) The decor is nicely done , not like any other pub restaurants, very comfortable seating soft lighting very clean tables and great menu options for food and drink . The food was a shocker (in a good sense) to me as I was expecting proceeded chicken for the boneless wings , nope it was real chicken that was cooked to perfection what a great start , as for the main s that again was outstanding the chefs are a master of their trade . Fresh quality and plentiful that gave me my hunger satisfaction and bang for my buck too . But I do have to say the desert are nice but a bit on the sweet side for me , I did get chuckle when I saw the unicorn poop desert on the kids menu (yes you read that right ) The pints were even on point , and I definitely will be returning to tackle the cocktail menu what a great choice of drinks oh and the gin trees too , I truly understand why this establishment has an award and I wouldn't be shocked if they got more . Message to management- your team of bar and servers are fantastic as I said warm welcome with a smile and very knowledgeable on the menus and drinks . Thank you for giving me a great experience to which is hard to come by now a days , I have eaten in a lot of Pub /restaurants in portlaoise and I can soundly say this is one of the best to date .

Family of 12, a lot of people to please and The Make and Mark bar is definitely 5 stars. The staff were so friendly and helpful from start to finish. We had a variety of delicious starters, mains and desserts. So tasty and portions were unreal. The refresher drinks hit the spot. We will definitely be back. Thanks a mill.

Lovely good, good gluten free options.

Myself and 2 others attended for dinner on Saturday evening and I cannot recommend this place enough! From the second we walked in, being greeted at the front desk by a lovely lady to being sat immediately, everything from start to finish was faultless. Service was absolutely amazing, so prompt and all the servers were so attentive and lovely. The food was AMAZING. Really fresh and fast service. The atmosphere was great, nice music playing, nice lighting and a good buzz in the restaurant. All in all there was not one thing I could say to fault our experience here. Start to finish it was 10/10. Thank you so much and we can’t wait to return!! :)

Wonderful food and great selection of gluten free options. Well worth a visit.

I took my daughter and grandchildren there to have burgers, and they were truly excellent! We had not been there before, but we would recommend it.
