It was our first visit in Dublin and the Merry Cobbler is one of the reasons we are going to come back. Great food, friendly staff and all for a reasonable price. We had a great time! Cheers!

We had a great stay at The Merry Cobbler. The pub so warm and welcoming, and the food really impressed us. Jim and his son Will went above and beyond to look after us too. The room was lovely. Absolute 10/10 from us. Wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else when we visit in future!

The Merry Cobbler in Dublin is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere and friendly staff who make you feel right at home. The pub’s charm lies in its perfect blend of traditional Irish coziness and modern flair—think roaring fireplaces, snug corners, and a fantastic selection of craft beers and wines. The food is consistently delicious, with standout dishes like fish and chips and hearty sandwiches. Whether you're popping in for a quiet pint or a lively evening with friends, The Merry Cobbler never disappoints.

Alles super.

Green Man Wines

10/08/2025: One of my favourite wine bars going. I've been here three times. The food is innovative and tasty. Service warm and friendly. Really nice ambience, very relaxing. Definitely worth a venture to Terenure for!
30/06/2025: This is a very pleasant neighbourhood wine bar which I visited for the first time tonight with my family . Food is excellent and creative . Service excellent also. Until you come to pay. There was a “corkage” charge on each bottle of wine we consumed of 15 euros per bottle. Asking about this unusual charge at the till produced impatience and what can only be described as derision . “It’s normal “ was the reply , how “many times do you actually eat out “was the question asked. Many times is the answer. After a rather rough verbal engagement the charges for corkage ( in a restaurant wine bar ) were removed but it was done with bad grace , by a very unpleasant manager. Awful pity. A nice place that could have become a family favourite has presented itself as a rip - off. A feeling that cannot be repaired. I m very happy to pay the price in any restaurant and we eat out a lot , but this establishment appears to be a catering crew operating in a wine bar that needs to charge corkage to the owner on any of his wines they sell as part of their operational agreement . Maybe I'm wrong about this? It’s a bit much lads .
