The Old Stone House in Ballinlough

We went to this restaurant last night and all I can say is wow, we were greeted like royalty at the door by Mags (who I never met before) and front start to finish 10/10, highly recommend it, staff out of this world and the food , my god just just top class 5star rating! Wonderful night with great friend s , can’t wait to return!!! Cheers guys

So we visited few times prior and was always excellent - BUT let me tell you today we came for hubby’s birthday and special was catch of the day (fish and chips) as someone who have lived near seafront England town and can really appreciate this and thought had the best of the best - I was mistaken , the stone house smashed it huge applause to the chef - this was by FAR the best fish and chips I have ever eaten in my whole entire life - everyone had the best time , we will continue coming once a month now as kids also had the best time & staff is brilliant and welcoming & the whole place is just goal ! Wonderful ambience, well trained staff, excellent food and impeccable service. Had the ribs, duck and vegan paella. Desserts are simply mouth watering. Dishes all pleasantly presented One suggestion would be to have steak knives with the Ribs and Duck.

First visit here with a group of 16 ranging in age from 8 to 78! Couldn’t have been better from start to finish. Food (including steak, duck, hake, deep fried brie) was outstanding and service very attentive - Mags and Aoibheann deserve a special mention. In particular, our son with food allergies had a 3 course meal - this (unfortunately) is really rare but made such a difference to the experience for him and the whole group! Thank you so much!

We were here on a Saturday evening and it was very busy. Friendly staff and decent food. I appreciate the very high costs of running a food business in Ireland today - one quibble is that we felt the dishes were slightly overpriced. That said an enjoyable night had by all.

Had the most Amazing Sunday Birthday lunch here, Everything was 100% The staff, Food and Atmosphere. Mags the proprietor checked on us many times. I'd highly recommend a trip here So worth the journey.. Louise

Fantastic service, big portions, good food.

Sunday lunch for 5. First visit but will definitely be back. Quality of the food was fantastic. Young wait staff and everyone of them were excellent. The hostess was friendly and welcoming.
