This is honestly the best hidden gem of our Wild Atlantic Way roadtrip! At €80 pp, the amount of food was more than expected, and each dish was incredibly plated and absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend, one of the best meals I have ever had
Thank you to the Chefs, Manager, Staff and waitresses for a really lovely day. It was my Dads 88th Birthday. His Granny used to own the bar in the 1940s and he lived there from he was 3 until he was 7.
We drove from Derry (just over an hour).
The food was amazing! The service and staff were first class. I would totally recommend The Olde Glen Bar. Thank you everyone for a fabulous day xxx

A lovely old Donegal pub, drinking creamy pints of Guiness in the old front room and eating up to date food in the back room

A Wedding Day Finale We’ll Never Forget
My wife Lynsey and I got married in Donegal on February 19th, and we ended the day with the most unforgettable meal at The Olde Glen Bar. It was nothing short of magical.
Back in December, I rang Cormac to ask if they might be open for dinner to celebrate our elopement. He said their schedule wasn’t set yet but they’d look into it — that was our only conversation. What we didn’t realise until later was that they had gone ahead, adjusted their plans, and opened a day early just for us. That leap of faith and generosity was incredible.
We were treated to a stream of stunning dishes at the chef’s table, watching the kitchen in calm, creative flow. From the moment we stepped into the cosy pub through to the intimate dining room, the welcome, atmosphere, and food were all flawless.
It was the perfect end to our wedding day — better than we could have ever imagined. We’ll be forever grateful to Cormac and the amazing team, and we can’t recommend The Olde Glen Bar highly enough.

Been looking forward to this for a long time and it didn't disappoint. Ciaran sweeney tended to each and every plate before they went out with artistic flair. His team work tirelessly and with no shouting that i sometimes see in open kitchens. The food is world class. Cormac and floor staff were fantastic. Gorgeous destination restaurant, attached to my Grandads favourite bar.
Make it your business to book and go.

From the moment you enter the restaurant till you leave you’ll be overwhelmed with the overall dining experience. I don’t want to spoil it for you but what you order on the menu is only part of what delights await you. This restaurant cannot be faulted. I can promise you that will be back here again and again.
Oh and as a bonus the attached bar has the locally produced Kinnegar Scraggy Bay craft beer on tap. It’s an absolute must to try if you never had it.

What absolute gem. Dined here as a party of 7. The attention to detail that goes into their dishes is amazing. I strongly recommend the scallops (the best I’ve had) and the duck for main. Great friendly warm atmosphere. We stayed next door in Clara’s cottage. Warm, modern and very comfortable.
Can’t wait to return.
