It's the best restaurant in every aspect... service is excellent, the bar and restaurant staff are friendly and professional and make you feel very welcome. The food is excellent beyond description in how well taught out it is and the flavours are amazing and the overall dining experience is very memorable.

Amazing food, Cracking Service. A must visit, if you visit Ireland!

By Irish standards, the food was very good! However, I found the desserts a bit too simple compared to the beautifully crafted starters and main courses. The restaurant has a warm, inviting atmosphere, and the presentation of the dishes was excellent. That said, the service could use some improvement, particularly in areas like product knowledge, hospitality, and understanding the etiquette expected of a fine dining establishment, even though it’s a pub. While the drinkwater in Ireland is generally good, it does have a slight chlorine taste. It might be a nice touch to offer bottled still or sparkeling water to your international guests. Dining time is limited to two hours, and unfortunately, staying for an after-dinner drink isn’t possible, as the next guests are often already waiting. Although you can enjoy a digestif in the pub, it would feel more welcoming to linger over an Irish whiskey and coffee in the restaurant itself. Overall, there are still a few areas for improvement before I’d be able to give a full five stars.

The Olde Glen exceeded our expectations. The accommodation is gorgeous. The Olde Glen Pub, run by the welcoming Angus, is stunning. The restaurant service, led by Cormac and the girls, was outstanding. The food was phenomenal- hands down one of the best culinary experiences we truly have ever had. Highly recommended!!! It is such a privilege to have this little gem in the heart of Donegal. The dining experience is amazing, the staff are super friendly, and the service is top-notch. The food is cooked to perfection, with clever and spot-on combinations. Probably one of the best restaurants we've visited in Ireland. Highly recommended.

Outstanding, the highlight of any trip to Donegal. We actually danced in the street when we managed to get a booking, such was the excitement of a return visit. It really can’t get any better. Arriving to the welcoming Olde Glen Bar (probably my favourite bar in the world), in eager anticipation of what gastronomic delights lay ahead. The bar is so cosy and friendly and welcoming and a great ante room to the restaurant. The restaurant appears to have had a bit of an upgrade visually, and the staff remain professional, yet giving a relaxed atmosphere. The food lived up to every bit of our expectations, from the tasty snacks, fabulously dressed oysters, and tasty breads, building up to the most amazing scallop starter I have ever had the pleasure to enjoy. For mains we all went for specials, including 3 types of lamb, and a halibut bisque dish. Silence across our table as everyone savoured every mouthful. Totally outstanding experience, great value for money for the standard of food, and wine was very reasonable and a great accompaniment to the meal. We can’t wait to return, but the food and the whole experience of The Olde Glen will make memories until,the next time.

A Donegal Gem. Five Star welcome, Five Star service and Five Star food. Nestled in one of the most beautiful corners of Ireland. Attached to a traditional bar is the almost hidden gem of a restaurant which can rival the best. From moment I arrived with a friends a warm welcome. Our servers Ashleen, Maja and Annie not only gave a great welcome but can with great knowledge guide you through the options on a set menu. The starters are all to die for, despite the huge temptation of fresh local fish I took Pork and Pork Belly as main - best I have ever had. Around the table a Black Sole, Lamb and a Curry all got huge thumbs up. Watch your appetite we struggled with a very tasty cheese plate. Top of my agenda for next trip to Donegal.
