We came midweek and received a very warm welcome. The pub wasn't particularly busy, but the staff were incredibly attentive. The fish and chips was absolutely delicious! But quite a generous portion (don't eat too much beforehand or you won't be able to finish your plate). A pleasant atmosphere in a typical Dublin pub!

Seafood chowder is good once you add salt & pepper, Lamb stew is tasty. No cocktails menu but server offered some sparking wine.

Great bar with lovely staff and very tasty food. Very substantial portions too. Couldn't eat all my delicious Irish stew and the Guinness soda bread was gorgeous

our favorite Pub in Ireland. Awesome vibe without the tourist crowds. We had dinner one night, food was very good as was the service. Came back just for a drink the next day mid-day.

Years since in this pub ..quaint small inviting...food was okay as owed by goat grill c chalk.....had lunch 1 drink....toilets a bit out of the way & cold 🥶

Mullingar House

20/02/2026: This was only a short bus journey or about a 15 minute walk from the hotel we were staying at (West County Hotel) we fancied something local instead of going into the city. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, everything was explained to us when we arrived, specials etc.. it was just a cosy, homely atmosphere. The food was great and lots of it too.
