The Quays in Athlone

Really central hotel, closer to everything. On arrival parking was scarce.. which is a good sign. Check in was smooth and seamless. A lovely cead mile faillte. Had dinner in the Marina, food was really good, great selection and very tasty, drinks menu was very nice too, unfortunately the Bord failte customer service doesn’t extend to the bar, evidently it was a cultural difference, while friendly and helpful, there’s no craic if ya get me. The rooms clean and beds so so comfortable, felt like I was in a cloud… it was so lovely the view from the room was comical… but I’m not complianing… I wasn’t there to be looking out a window!! The team and coffe station was just randomly placed on the safe…so maybe the tray was stolen or damaged and needs to be replaced, did it effect my sleep… absolutely not, but these are the small things that make the difference. Breakfast in the morning while lacking that cead mile failte we were asked out room number and that was it… we gave the room number and the reply was OK… and we were left to seat ourselves and navigate our way around, not the way I was trained by CERT 30 years ago… god I feel old…. again did that impact the stay no!! The breakfast was plentiful, fresh, great selection, everyone is catered for, did we leave happy and full.. YES. Receptionist on check out, seemed to be a well seasoned staff member, not the most pleasant. Who knows maybe she has loads going on at the moment, so we just heaped burning coals on her head and smiled. All in all a fab hotel. Will we be back? absolutely. Keep up the good work. The whole updates on WhatsApp is very clever when you check in too Ivy the virtual assistant we love her!

We had the pleasure of staying overnight in this charming hotel for the second time. The family rooms are absolutely fantastic! Very large, spacious with very comfortable beds. Cosmetics in the bathroom smell wonderful! Another plus is a very good restaurant and bar at the marina club hotel! Service at the highest level and tasty dishes! Breakfasts are very tasty and there is a very large selection, so everyone will find something for themselves. Very polite and helpful staff at breakfast in the morning. A special thank you to the lovely lady in black, short curly hair. This hotel is ideal for families with children because it meets all expectations. I wanted to add that the pool and spa area are also flawless and our daughter had a lot of fun at the pool. Thank you!

The location was perfect for a city break - town centre is right on the doorstep and there was plenty of free parking. Most of the staff, all over the hotel, were excellent. The breakfast area, the team working there and the buffet were all great. The bed was super comfortable and the room had plenty of sockets (but only Irish TV stations -despite links to most of the UK stations and apps!) We were a bit disappointed in the general appearance of the hotel which has 4 stars. There is a bizarre, unused coffee service section in the foyer which was detrimental to the overall appearance, as it looked like a storage area. There's no formal dining you'd want to dress up for, although the food in the restaurant is excellent and reasonably priced. The pool is quite small and the surrounds are very plain and boring. The Business Class room was comfortable but the carpet, chairs and bed support were all a little grubby. The visit was for our 10th wedding anniversary, and in light of the above, we are not thinking of visiting again.

Great location! Bad beds. There's a walking bridge off of the hotel with the middle point in Ireland marked. Got one pillow each if you could call them that. The bed was very uncomfortable and woke up with back pain.

Breakfast was superb, room staff - 5- stars, very hardworking, daily cleaning perfect.

Do you have places you want to return to again and again? I certainly do. For me, the main criteria are always impeccable service, style, atmosphere, and outstanding cuisine. The restaurant at the Radisson Blu Athlone has truly become one of those special places. Yesterday I celebrated my birthday here, and it was a genuinely unforgettable evening. From the very first moments, we felt sincere attention and exceptional hospitality — the restaurant manager personally welcomed us, immediately creating a sense of care and individual attention. Our table was beautifully prepared, with elegant table settings and fresh flowers; every detail was thoughtfully arranged with taste and refinement. The service deserves the highest praise. The staff were attentive, professional, and genuinely friendly, making the evening feel effortless and comfortable. The cuisine exceeded all expectations — each dish was perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. The atmosphere deserves special admiration. The panoramic view over the River Shannon and the nearby church creates a truly magical setting. In my opinion, it is the most beautiful place in Athlone. I would especially like to thank the manager, Praveen, for the flawless organisation of my celebration. Thanks to his professionalism and attention to detail, my birthday was truly special. My guests and I were absolutely delighted. This is a place you want to return to — and one I wholeheartedly recommend for any special occasion.

Here for small function with former work colleagues, drinks, meal. All very good but restaurant very cold with breezes at leg level. Patio type heaters not sufficient enough. Would still use again.

A quiet, pleasant, and very well-maintained hotel. Free outdoor parking. Swimming pool, sauna, and hammam. The restaurant was also very good. It was an excellent stay.

Excellent service from Sai Tej, his customer service is first class. He really goes above and beyond and is very efficient.
