Upon arrival, we were immediately approached at the front door by an individual asking for money, which was an unsettling start. Once inside our room, we discovered several maintenance issues: the toilet seat was broken, the towel rack and toilet paper holders were falling off the wall, and we encountered spiders in the bathroom on five separate occasions.
When my wife asked the bellman outside for assistance with our luggage, he told her to go inside and speak with the front desk—offering no help at all.
We stayed for two nights and were never contacted by hotel staff to check on our experience.
This was a deeply disappointing stay, especially from a Radisson Blu property. Based on our experience, it felt more like a Radisson Red—a clear warning to others to avoid this location.

The hotel was good, staff were nice, breakfast was fine plenty of choice. Although it was free the car park however was not great, places were hard to find at most times, as it’s a public car park with pay and display.
In centre of Athlone. Small parking area for the size of the hotel. Missed the turning to the hotel. Hope the hotel entrance sign posting can be improved. The restaurant was nice. Good food and the staff was very professional. Chicken wings was good

Myself and a few friends visited the Radisson two weeks ago during the beautiful weather. It was just an unbelievable experience. We arrived at approx 3.30pm sat out on the decking area and had cocktails! We had a table booked for 5pm for food. We got a high table which was great. We all had different dishes and everyone was very happy...food was delicious. Wine was also very good. We were very happy with our experience and we will definitely be back in the very near future. Thanks to one and all for making our evening so memorable.

Love the ambiance.
I recently stayed in a family suite, and my experience was quite disappointing.
First, the in-room TV is extremely limited and outdated—it doesn't even support YouTube or Netflix, which is a basic expectation these days.
Secondly, the family suite didn’t even have a fridge, which was incredibly inconvenient.
On top of that, I returned to my room at 4 PM to find it hadn’t been cleaned. I had to call reception twice before housekeeping finally arrived—over 30 minutes later. When I asked why my room wasn’t cleaned, the housekeeper simply said, "They forgot." That’s completely unacceptable.
We had a wonderful experience thanks to Michael, who served us during dinner. He was incredibly nice and friendly from the moment we sat down. Michael was also very attentive, making sure we had everything we needed without ever being intrusive. His chatty and warm personality added a personal touch to the evening, making us feel genuinely welcomed. It’s rare to come across someone so naturally engaging and professional — he truly made our dining experience memorable. Thank you, Michael!

Loved the Radisson. Great outdoor area for drinks and relaxation overlooking the river, would like to have eaten out there during the day... Food was fabulous in the restaurant..staff were brilliant and hotel is clean and comfortable...location is perfect...arrived during the day and parking was quite restricted...but managed to find a spot....
