The Rag Trader is an absolute gem in Dublin and a place that should be on everyone’s must-visit list. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by a fantastic atmosphere that perfectly blends great energy with genuine Irish hospitality. A special mention has to go to Gareth behind the bar. He made what I can honestly say was one of the best margaritas I’ve ever had. Beyond his skill as a bartender, his charm, easy-going nature, and friendly personality made the whole experience even better. It’s rare to find someone who can make such a great drink while also making every guest feel right at home. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick drink or settling in for the evening, The Rag Trader delivers. Great cocktails, great people, and a fantastic vibe—it’s a pub that’s well worth seeking out when you’re in Dublin. its always a place i stop by when im in town and never disappoints

Top spirits and Old Fashioned for €10 - truly unbeatable!

The Rag Trader feels like one of those pubs you randomly walk into in Dublin and then end up staying much longer than planned. From the outside it looks modern and lively, but inside you get this warm mix of dark wood, whiskey shelves, soft lighting and classic Irish pub atmosphere. What really stands out is the whiskey selection. Plenty of Irish whiskeys, including more interesting bottles you do not see everywhere, and the whole place feels like it actually cares about whiskey culture instead of just serving Guinness to tourists. The atmosphere was genuinely great as well. Relaxed crowd, people trying whiskey flights, others casually drinking pints, plus traditional Irish music evenings. The slightly older bartender with the short hair behind the bar was an absolute character too. Constantly joking with guests, creating atmosphere and somehow making everyone order “just one more beer”. Exactly the kind of personality you hope to meet in a Dublin pub.

I always love going to the Rag! Great atmosphere and Great craic with the staff there! Specially shout out to Garrett in the bar who always gives Great recommendations for whiskey, along with Great stories. It's like hanging out with good friends.

Gar and Jason took great care of us and made it our best pub experience in Ireland! Gar told us to go to Howth and we did and had a beautiful time. This is a special place that I will return to and you should too!

Best whiskey experience hands down, crazy gar was a lovely host. If you are interested in nice irish wiskey and a dark and cozy atmosphere this is the right place.

I had lunch here with my girlfriend. This bar is fantastic. Old world vibes with the antique furniture. The pints were well crafted and more importantly reasonably priced and overall it was a very pleasant afternoon.
