Wow! I was not expecting such amazing food to come out of a hidden tavern like this. Had a drink at the bar then sat for dinner. I got the ribeye with buttery mash and oh my goodness it was divine. It was also grand seeing the old train as the steak grill- as well as the other nods towards it being an old train station! We went with a large group and they were extremely accommodating.
If you love food....who doesn't and you want to go to a place that is slightly different....steaks are cooked on a train grill. Then you have to visit this place. A lovely place, lovely food and in a fantastic location. Highly recommended.
The service was ok, a little slow but somewhat friendly.
The food however was decent. My steak was perfect medium/rare. It was interesting to be able to watch the guy grill our steaks. However I felt VERY lucky as he was sweeping up the floor of wood bits and dirt etc and he used the pan to throw this filth into the fire and at the same time coving some of the steaks for other people......gross. definitely ignorant practise that needs to stop. It would put us off going again incase we are not so lucky and get extra u wanted seasoning next time.
Always a winner for dining in the inishowen area.
We recently dined here with family. The service was excellent and the food, as always was amazing. It is one of our favourite places to dine when we are in Donegal.
Only a short drive from Derry although I would drive a lot further for the quality of this place for both food and service.
Amazing food and great staff. Thank you!

09/08/2025: We always have a great time at the Red Door.
The food is always delicious and it is a lovely place to celebrate a special occassion as the grounds are beautiful, as is the interior. Food is always good.
This time we just dropped in foe bar food. It was delicious. There was a good choice on the bar food menu and it was reasonably priced for the quality of the meal we had.
