If you're in County Donegal, a visit to the Railway Tavern is a must! Housed in a Victorian Railway station, the steaks are cooked on the old fire box to perfection. The crispy cabbage is a house specialty and it's totally addictive. With a warm and friendly staff, the Railway Tavern never disappoints.

Folks, a trip to the Railway Tavern is a MUST when visiting county Donegal. Fahan is a short drive from Derry and it's 100% worth it. All five times I have traveled to St. Johnston, Ireland I have eaten here, all five times had a spectacular experience. One of the best decisions when I got married in Derry, December 7, 2024 was having this fantastic venue host our wedding reception. The steak, buttery mash, onion rings and their specialty, the crispy cabbage were incredible! Already looking forward to meal #6! 🥩🍻🇮🇪❤️

I had such a fantastic time at this restaurant! 🤩 The food was absolutely delicious, and every dish was a delight. The staff were incredibly friendly and efficient, making the whole experience even better. I highly recommend it! ✨🍽️

Awesome meal and will make a bee line for this place again.. tucked away but well worth the stop for the crispy cabbage which is incredible .. food was soooo good

Delicious food and always a pleasant welcoming atmosphere Have been many times with friends and solo Great location just a short walk from the beautiful Fahan marina and easy to get there on the Derry to Buncrana bus if you don't drive or fancy wee drink with dinner.

We felt completely at ease at The Railway Tavern! The service staff is incredibly friendly, and the food was so delicious that we ate there several times – sadly, you hardly ever find this level of service in Germany anymore. We did have a little running gag, though: the chef took the "char-grilled" part a bit too literally one evening… 🔥 But otherwise, we highly recommend it!
