Lovely vibe and coll decor. Pizza toppings are great combos but a little sparse on actually topping them - a lot of crust and the 2 euro dips dont even cover half a pizzas worth! Had a great time though and good value for money. Arrive early as busy at 5pm opening with queue for tables.

You’d miss this charming little open air pizza spot if you weren’t looking for it, which is a shame as the pizzas are as great as the ambience is charming. Either walk through the street-facing Patsy Dan’s (and grab a drink to bring into the Rusty Oven) or circle ’round back to the Dunfanaghy Bay side of the buildings to find the chalkboard signage and crowds of people. You might have a wait—we got lucky and snagged a small table. The habanero honey dip and olive teacup went great with our pizzas.

Super friendly staff! Lovely buzzy place on a Sunday evening. Booking recommended, but we got the last available table at 17:45. Fantastic vegan pizza with great toppings. 1/2 bottles of wine available. Perfect. Pros: Clearly marked vegan pizza, atmosphere and proper pizzaiolo

Delicious food and friendly service, both 5 stars, but damn that has got to be the smallest 15€ pizza I have ever seen!

Great experience at the Rusty Oven, I recommend it ! The variety and originality of the pizzas makes it a great place to discover. The setting is quite different and unusual making a good place to bring kids.

What a greatplace. Absolutely authentic outside eating, even in very early spring. Great staff, perfect pizza from a wood-fired oven. What else is there to wish for?

Patsy Dan's

09/07/2025: A lovely local bar, a few minutes walk from the nearby hotel. Worth stopping by.
16/06/2025: Great pub with a cozy atmosphere. Has that old time feel. Friendly staff and a reat bar for traditional Irish music (Mondays and Fridays). Has a pizza restaurant out back called The Rusty Oven that has the best pizzas. Dog friendly. Highly recommend this spot.

Oyster Bar

09/07/2025: Charming pub, great value for money and awesome trad music. Everything we weren't able to get due to the larger crowds in Galway! Dunfanaghy is a great little find.
02/07/2025: I was recently in Dunfanaghy for two nights and after 8 days in Donegal, I had my best meal of the entire trip in this bar! It was totally unexpected, because I'll be honest, when I walked in, it wasn't the vibe I wanted. There's several TVs and the music was quite loud, so it very much has the atmosphere of a sports bar. Nevertheless, I parked myself at the bar and ordered dinner and OMG. I had the seabass and it was literally the best meal I have had in a LONG time. I mean, it was so good that I am still thinking about over a week later and felt the need to write a review! While it is sort of loud and one of the bartenders wasn't particularly friendly, I would go back in a second to try more of their food. Highly recommend!
