We loved this restaurant! The atmosphere is very Irish and the food is delicious (we ordered the sirloin steak and it was fantastic). A special mention goes to Marc, who served us with great kindness and gave us excellent recommendations. We were so happy to meet someone like him! Thank you for your attention, professionalism, and friendliness. We'll be back soon!

An absolute gem! The place to stay and eat in the area.

My friends and I stopped at the Rusty Mackerel for a night on a road trip through north west Ireland, and boy were we impressed! The Rusty Mackerel is THE place to stay and have dinner at if you want a true Irish experience. It was recommended to us by locals and it exceeded our expectations. The vibes are the best, live music, warm and cozy fireplace, kind and welcoming staff, good food, great beer and the rooms are peaceful and quiet. I will be back without a doubt!! You are very close to Slieve League, the hike is easy and will blow your mind! Highly recommend staying at the Rusty Mackerel!

Just returned from celebrating my 70th Birthday here.....Every single member of staff were amazing...So proffesional in every way...Menu was good and food delicous...Loved the set up all very close up and personal..Music evenings were great fun....Rooms are a wee bit compact but completley understand why.... Definatley be back in the summer...

Superb meal, very pleasant staff, thank you for this delightful experience 🥘 A traditional establishment with an exceptional location at the foot of the cliffs. I had lost my bag containing my passport, and the bar kept it safe for me until the next day. Thank you again!

Great atmosphere Great food and perfect for exploring the amazing donegal coastline..

We had lunch here over Christmas as well enjoyed it. The fish was excellent and the pub is very charming. It felt overpriced in that there was less fish in the chowder and in that fish pie then we expected. It cost €150 for four including starters and main meals. Our table was in the covered beer garden area and it meant we didn't get the nice pub ambience we had hoped for. A little disappointing but we'll return and wait for a table in the pub area, and avoid the chowder as starter.

Out of the way, away from the noise and fast pace of life! A wonderful spot to stop and relax. Spectacular views and incredible people.
