Can’t really rate the rooms cause we just went for dinner but the food was very very good. Good pint of Guinness too! Only problem was that there was lots of little flies flying around us and it is on the pricier side but it’s true that it was quality food. I recommend!

I had a delicious Irish beef stew. The building is steeped in culture and history. Inside, everything is rustic and authentically decorated. The Rusty Mackerel is definitely worth a visit. Despite the lack of seating, we were greeted warmly and eventually got a table.

Having frequented the rusty mackerel for years without an issue i feel it has changed somewhat & not for the best. The food was mediocre at best and priced way above average. The Guinness used to be the best around even that standard has gone. Cmon lads get it together need to do better .

Staff were lovely and the pub is charming but I feel that this is a bit of a tourist trap, the menu is drastically reduced out of season, fish and chips were ok the batter wasn't very crispy. Husband had fish pie and that was ok. Not as good as we expected it to be

13/01/2026: Had a lovely dinner in the silver Tankard last Sunday, a truly nice atmosphere and helpful cheerful staff , they couldn't do enough for you , the food is excellent and prompt, top shelf, thank you very much to all there
