Having frequented the rusty mackerel for years without an issue i feel it has changed somewhat & not for the best. The food was mediocre at best and priced way above average. The Guinness used to be the best around even that standard has gone. Cmon lads get it together need to do better .

The location is truly fantastic, and the pub is superb. However, the rooms are tiny, windowless, and very noisy.

Had a lovely lunch after our adventure on the Slieve League. It is located right by it so very convenient. Typical pub food. I had the wings and they were nice. My sister had the fish and chips and it was a huge portion that she enjoyed

The Boathouse

19/10/2025: Delicious evening meal made all the more enjoyable by the warm and friendly staff. Duck and lamb were superb.
28/09/2025: We were staying at the hotel next door so ate here for a change. It was fabulous! The waiting staff were so friendly and helpful. The food is excellent, well cooked, interesting flavours and good portions. The view over the Lough was stunning. I would highly recommend this lovely bistro for a relaxed meal in a gorgeous setting.
