Disappointed, given all the praise.
Okay food, but nothing special. Too pricey.

Great Irish pub with a great atmosphere. In a perfect location for lunch after hiking up the amazing Slieve League Cliffs.

Restaurant:
Very quaint and traditional pub
Daily live music
Food, we were there for 2 days, very tasty and recommended.
Price-wise but a bit expensive compared to other restaurants.
Room:
The room size is ok for the location. For me the bed was good but very hard mattress and hard pillow. You have to like that. There was a musty/probably peaty smell almost constantly coming from the bathroom. Hardly any light in the room.
We wouldn't stay here again.

The accommodation consists of small lodges, which resemble containers, but are modern and neatly furnished. The room was small but clean, with a kettle, small desk, mirror, and well-placed power outlets. The shower was good – overall, a simple but decent room for one night.
The check-out process was chaotic and time-consuming: The receptionist wasn’t sure how to check us out, had to make a phone call for clarification, and couldn’t provide us with an invoice – only the EC/Credit card receipt. We had to return to the hotel two hours later to collect the actual invoice from the manager. This extra task was inconvenient and should not be necessary in a properly run hotel. The manager didn’t apologize for the inconvenience, responding with just a brief “Okay”.
The breakfast, which was supposed to be available from 8:30 AM, was not ready. When we arrived just after 9 AM, there was no staff present, except for the chef, who couldn’t help us. Breakfast was eventually served at around 9:30 AM, which disrupted our schedule. However, the bar itself is a wonderful, cozy, and authentically Irish pub, offering a typical Irish breakfast that was delicious. The ambience of the bar truly captures the spirit of Ireland, and it was a lovely place to enjoy the meal once it was available.
At a price of about €135 per night including breakfast, I expect much better service and a smoother operation. The room was fine, but the issues with check-out and breakfast were disappointing.

Stumbled across this place in desperation in the midst of a storm at night and boy oh boy were we happy to find it!!! But gratefulness aside it’s truly a gem in the middle of the countryside! Food was sensational and the staff and locals were so friendly :) we couldn’t believe our luck to find it.
Delicious and full of character.
