A great location if you are visiting the cliffs and we received a warm welcome from fantastic staff. The food in the bar was ok. Fish lovely, chips undercooked and beef fajitas not what we were expecting with a runny beef brisket rather than the usual steak pieces. The breakfast was fantastic with quality ingredients and delicious sausages. We really enjoyed the singer in the bar on the Friday evening. Sadly the stay was let down with a tiny room with the cheapest bunk bed for 3 that squeaked and rocked with every movement. It is not made clear when booking or in the photos that the triple room is a bunk so be aware. A fire alarm at 3 am that had us outside till the owner arrived and no apology at check out was the icing on the cake of a terrible night sleep.

The Rusty Mackerel is a truly fantastic and authentic place! You look inside your eyes, what a history! A warm peat fire warms the bar and my dog ​​was more than welcome!

Can't speak to the lodgings, but the food was pretty good. I got a burger which felt a little dry, but fresh nonetheless. Our server wasn't exactly quick to clear plates or refill pints, but it made for a relaxing atmosphere.

I cant speak highly enough about this place. Excellent food and Guinness for a great price. Lovely bar and the staff were brilliant. So accommodating and good with our dogs. Ill definitely be back.

Great food, great service. Ambiance was amazing.

The most quintessential, memory-making Irish pub. It has modern and most importantly traditional charms down to a peat-fired fireplace. It’s well off the beaten path, and right at the foot of must-visit Slieve League cliffs (waaay more impressive than Moher) with mostly locals in both spots. We hit a music night and it was everything one could ever ask for. They even shipped our forgotten raincoats to our car rental in Dublin. Come here and enjoy the edge of the world in a differently authentic way.

Lovely and homely Gastropub, with great atmosphere and food.

Great food, excellent location, friendly staff and dog friendly. Clean and tidy accommodation and free cark park definitely recommend. We had the seafood chowder and fish and chips. The service was very efficient and the food fantastic. Chowder has lots of fish and the fish and chips was so fresh.
