The Schoolhouse Bar in Dublin

Anything I say about The Schoolhouse Hotel will sound like hyperbole, but will, in reality, be understatement. We love this place so much. The building is amazing, the people so attentive and just plain nice. 5 stars. 10/10 would recommend.

On the 19/06/2026 I like to start off with the blue room where we had our dinner event. The blue room was perfect and classy looking which still has the history within it to this day. Sophie the events co-ordinator made sure the day went smoothly and the organisation of the room was perfect, She was able to handle all outside services which we required for the day. The outside grounds was perfect and beautiful. The service on the day was absolutely excellent. The have an excellent range of wines and prosecco. The menu they had was excellent and also tailored for different dietary requirements. The Food I cannot fault ''Hats off to the Chef'' that is also coming from forty three guests which we had at this event. The gastropub has a good choice and tasty food. The staff was attentive and deserved their tips. We also had a beautiful evening with sun and warmth which contributed to the atmosphere. This old schoolhouse turned foodie pub is the perfect spot in Ballsbridge for a pint and a delicious meal.

We had the afters of our wedding here in June, and we couldn't recommend it highly enough. From the quick responses to our questions during the planning stage to the excellent service on the day itself, everything was fantastic. Sophie was outstanding and went above and beyond to accommodate us in every way she could. The food and cocktails were amazing, and we've already been back twice since the wedding. This venue is a real gem in Dublin. The rooms are absolutely beautiful—spacious, stylish, and finished to a very high standard. They were spotless, incredibly comfortable, and made our stay feel extra special. It's clear that a lot of thought has gone into every detail. Don't miss the breakfast either – it's excellent!

We spent two nights upon arrival to Dublin. Our room was very nicely appointed as well as quiet and comfortable. The reception staff were very kind and accommodating, especially Lorena. Two meals in the gastropub very nice. Being able to eat in the garden on a sunny day was a plus.

Beautiful garden and cosy place! I only tried the food for lunch, so I can’t comment on the rooms. The food was tasty, and the staff were very helpful. Prices felt reasonable. The décor and interior are special, with unique corners that each create a different atmosphere. The bar and chimney add a charming touch, and the garden is simply lovely. The only drawback for me was the lighting inside, it felt a bit too dim for my taste. The chicken wings and the mixed salad was a little bit salty in my opinion.
