The Strand Hotel Bray in Bray

Very good hotel with friendly staff and good breakfast.

The rooms are lovely and the beds are comfortable. The staff is amazing and desires to cater to your every need. The food is fantastic! Highly recommend the Wildes restaurant. The open steak sandwich is divine. The view is spectacular as the hotel is right by the Irish sea.

The hotel was fantastic. What really did it for us was the superb breakfast, you have to try the full irish, and that bacon was phenomenonal. My only critique is that the room we stayed in "The Picture of Dorian Gray" was a tad small. But we didn't spend a lot of time there anyway. Overall a wonderful experience, the staff were kind and accommodating and the location is spectacular. Close to bars, a great hike, and a simple walk on the shore.

Excellent location for this history gem. Stay here to mingle with ghosts of past parties and the spirit of the artistic legend Oscar Wilde. Bar on site and steps away from a children's playground, the beach, restaurants and the wallboard.

The location is convenient, but unfortunately, that's where the positives end. 24/7 paid parking on-site. The experience inside was disappointing. The floor staff seemed inconvenienced by our presence, and despite the restaurant being nearly empty (only a group of four), both ordering and service were incredibly slow. Plant-based options for 2 of our party were severely lacking, and to make matters worse, we waited 20 minutes just for water, followed by an additional 5 minutes for glasses. The staff were inattentive and forgetful, leaving us feeling neglected throughout the visit. Sadly, the highlight of the experience was leaving, as the service was far below expectations. We shall not be returning. (Party of 7 ages 8 - 67)
