The Tack Room in Athlone

Solid pub with sound staff, couldn’t ask for much more.

The tack room bar is a nice spot, but it does really need a makeover. The drinks are solid, the staff are friendly , and the atmosphere is always buzzing even on a quiet night. There's events throughout the week, and being close to a college allows certain student themed nights to go ahead. There's a dart board and 2 pool tables and several televisions for live sport coverage Having been coming here for over 15 years, I can tell you the place hasn't changed in the slightest. Sometimes going back in time when you enter an irish bar can be a nice niche but the one thing that usually helps is the toilets would be kept in great order, unfortunately I can't say that about the tack. There's nothing extremely negative I can say about the bar but It does feel fairly average compared to most around the town. Considering Athlone has seen quite a few bar-makeovers recently, maybe it is time for the owners to follow suit.

Long time going to the tack room bar, atmosphere is fantastic. Staff are very friendly, typical range of drinks you'd expect in an irish bar. A range of events across the week great as a student bar, especially on Tack Tuesdays & Karaoke Wednesdays. Fridays are for the poker where a couple of home games are played at either end of the bar. 2 pool tables and a juke box ties up a great bar experience.

Had a great time in here while on holidays. The staff were very friendly and attentive, everything was very clean and the standard of service and atmosphere will bring me back again. Also thank you to Dave for making our night.

Great spot with a great atmosphere. Always seems to have a great buzz around the place between the sport being shown on the TVs, karaoke Wednesdays and live music at the weekends🎵🎤 Spacious and warm with two pool tables to play on aswell 🎱 Sound staff across the board and savage Guinness too 😋

This bar has become my local over the past 8 months. I love the live music on Saturday nights and Sunday evening during the summer accompanied with a cheeky bbq! I’d be a bit too old for the madness of tack Tuesdays but LOVE karaoke Wednesdays. I have found all the bar staff and locals to be very kind and friendly and the pub is always well kempt.

Had the best night in the tack room. Staff went out of their way for us, service was amazing, and the atmosphere was vibrant for the entire night. It's one of my all time top spots in Athlone.

Heard this place serves pints. Couldn’t believe it when I strolled in and it turned out to be true I received a pint, Mind blowing stuff 5 stars.
