A short drive from Athlone and well worth it. Busy pub with varied dishes and blackboard specials. Maybe not as much seafood as I had expected but still something for everyone. The Fjord mussels were delicious though.
As I was driving I tried the 0% red wine but not a success. Will stick to soft drinks in the future.
We had a birthday event at the Villager and it was outstanding. The food was amazing the venue and atmosphere was fantastic and the staff were brilliant. And a big shout out to Maeve who was always on hand to help up create a memorable night

Outstanding and tasty food. Everyone was catered for from tasty vegetarian dishes to the Birthday cake with some great singing. Very professional and personal service from the excellent staff can't really say enough nice things.
Incredible food. Really tasty starters and a great selection of them. Great steaks.
Very friendly servers and nice atmosphere.
Not cheap, but reasonable, especially considering quality.
30/06/2024: Yet again another lovely meal here. Only had started and chips this time but the mushroom and bacon salad was absolutely gorgeous. Would actually have eaten a bit more though. Prices are fairly reasonable too.
10/06/2024: Stopped here for dinner in Glasson village...food area was busy and we didn't have a reservation...but we waited only 5 minutes for a clean table...staff are very courteous and took our order promptly ..got the soup, was delicious and came with a slice of Guinness bread and brown bread ...we asked about the Guinness bread and it is baked on site, so we ended up buying a loaf.... got the homemade burger with chips, onions, mushrooms, pepper sauce on a large potato croquette...was so delicious...my husband got the creamiest pint of Guinness...we were too full to eat dessert so cannot make comment..have since sent 10 other people over for dinner on our recommendation....will definitely be returning 😋
