The Yacht in Dublin

Location: Yacht Bar enjoys a prime location in Clontarf, right in front of the Irish Sea and just steps away from it. The area is scenic, peaceful, and perfect for a walk before or after your visit. Whether you're enjoying the sea breeze or admiring the surrounding nature, the setting adds real charm to the overall experience. Atmosphere & Space: The pub itself is spacious, featuring several indoor salons, an outdoor seating area, and a rooftop. The rooftop is a standout spot, although it's only open on weekends and doesn’t offer service during weekdays, which is something to keep in mind when planning your visit. On weekdays, guests must choose between indoor or outdoor seating. Food & Drink: Yacht Bar offers a self-service-style kitchen. You select your food, and you're charged based on your choices. While the variety is decent, the food quality is just average. Considering the prices, there's room for improvement. As for drinks, I tried a few, including a margarita. The drinks were fine—nothing exceptional, but enjoyable. Service & Hospitality: This is where the bar could significantly improve. Upon entering, there’s often no clear guidance or greeting, which can be confusing for new visitors. Unlike many places where someone promptly asks if you’d like a table or food, the process here feels disorganized. On a few occasions, I noticed dirty tables and had to wait for them to be cleaned after sitting. Additionally, when we asked for an ashtray, the staff brought over a nearly full one from another table instead of emptying it first—which felt careless. Overall: Despite some service and hospitality issues, I genuinely like the place. Its location, ambiance, and spacious layout make it worth visiting, especially on a nice day. With a few improvements in staff training and food quality, Yacht Bar could easily become a top-tier spot.

General pub with generic beer. No craft beer

This is an amazing bar + restaurant and food was delicious 😋. The quantity is good and they have few vegetarian options also. Most of vegetarian options has mostly potatoes 🥔 but it was tasty. Ambience is amazing and it gives a vintage feel. Really liked the background music here as it was not loud and you can also talk.

A 7-euro Guinness pint was good.

Chaotic on Easter Sunday, which is to be expected. No organising of tables or effort to seat people, which is fine, but there could be someone there to maximise seating. Would assist. Food was at the top side of pricing, 20 odd for Beef, breaded chicken breast (18.50) was fresh, but a bit bland as was mostly everything on plate, except for garlic potato's which were v v tasty. Just needed seasoning, I suggest. Got desserts which I'm sorry to say were very poor, apple tart, despite heated up, wasn't great, couldn't get spoon through it. Lemon cake dry & was as if it'd been there for a while, would suggest some hot lemon drizzle on it before serving. 850 I think.Coffee was ok. Service was solid, tables being cleared & one girl offered to drop desserts over without being asked. It's a great location and will be back, maybe just the day.

To be fair, it was around 6pm on Easter Sunday so presumably a busy day was ending. Disappointing that there was no lamb for Easter. Beef was plentiful and tender. Gravy was dire. Stuffing was offered but looked dusty and dry. Horseradish was fine. Vegetables were cold and tasteless. Roast potatoes also cold and soggy. Look, it was quick and cheap and I ate it, but when we decided to go out looking for food and I read reviews, I expected something much better. Staff were indifferent there seemed to be no one clearing tables. Won't be back.

Normalmente me encanta este lugar y rara vez me decepciona. Ayer por la noche comí una ensalada César como plato principal y fue precioso como de costumbre. Pero el postre era horrible... Decía "tarta de manzana caramelizada" que era apetitosa. Cuando la cosa llegó, era una tarta de manzana que definitivamente no se hizo en el día que sabía rancio, y estaba cubierto por una piscina de caramelo industrial y salsa de fresa. Todo estaba suave, sabía divertido y no correspondía en absoluto a lo que había en el menú. Por 9 € , se espera pastelería fresca y caramelo casero. Un gran fracaso.

Mi colega y yo caminamos desde el Clontarf Castle Hotel a este pub para almorzar un lunes por la tarde. El pub era hermoso y bastante grande, con varias secciones de asientos en la parte trasera junto con una gran chimenea. El barman era muy agradable y servicial. Encontramos una mesa y aprendimos que caminas hasta la cocina trasera, tomas un plato y te sirven allí. Pedí el Cottage Pie y vino con varios lados como puré de guisantes y papas - era un montón de comida. El pastel era muy bueno, pero no pude terminar toda la comida. ¡Buen pub!
