Neachtain's had been recommended by friends, so needed to stop there and went for lunch. Both had the salmon chowder which was delicious and pints of Beamish beer (from the Cork County area). Plaque in pavement at base of entry door states Tis Neactain - 1894. Waiter was extremely pleasant and socialable. We swat in one of thee back booth areas that felt extremely old. Nice lunch!

Probably the best pint of Guinness in Galway. Definitely the best spot to people-watch while drinking them...

We were on a bus tour of Ireland and we spent a couple of days in Galway. We went to the Latin Quarter several times to see the action, drink and eat. A really fun place to hangout.
We spent a couple of hours at Tigh Neachtain drinking and eating. Lots of fun.

We were lucky to get a table at lunch time, we aimed at chowder and it was really good. Great service and very pleasant atmosphere 🍻

Traditional pub in the center of Galway with a very good atmosphere and a short but quality menu. A pint of Murphy's costs €6.20. I tried the oysters, very fresh, served with a separate sauce that I didn't even touch; I ordered half a dozen and since they only had five left, they deducted one from my bill. The stobhach, an Irish beef stew with potatoes and carrots, was delicious, a good portion for €16.50. At 3:00 p.m. there were no mussels left and, although some customers had already been brought the drink, as they had not started to consume it, they were not charged for it and the waiter even offered it to another table, an excellent gesture. The kitchen closes at 4:00 p.m. They have a terrace with plenty of shade in the afternoon.

Very quick stop at Tigh Neachtain during a walking food and drinks tour in Galway and it was really fun. The pub is a really old from back in the 1800s, traditional Irish pub serving pretty much everything you’d expect them to serve: beer! But their food offerings are really next level.
We had a good sample to try a few of their dishes, starting with fresh oysters - flaggy shore dainty oysters. Very different from what I’ve tasted before and delicious. Then fresh Galway bay mussels in Guinness, garlic and basil broth, phenomenal. Then we tried the Pota Mór Feoil - a slow cooked Irish beef in Guinness and red wine, with root vegetables and it was both filling and flavorful, perfect for cold weather.
Had a taste of a local beer and a cider to spice things up a bit.

Class pub. Staff are outstanding.
Un lugar muy pintoresco pero vibrante y social en la calle Quay para tomar una copa. Justo en la esquina es un gran lugar para sentarse afuera y ver al niño pasar. El exterior del edificio parece una librerĂa
