Toro Tapas Bar in Malahide

Delicious food, great service and great atmosphere! Definitely coming back

Food was fine. Table booked for half 8. They didnt take our food order until 9:05.. and our drinks hadnt even arrived at this stage. I went with 4 people. I understand tapas come in intervals however all of my family had finished eating their 3 tapas before mine had even arrived. They attempted to order cocktails to prevent me feeling awkward as I had to eat alone, but the drinks took 25 minutes to come to our table. At one stage, a waiter came over and said "Are you all done with your food?" and I had to say that mine hadnt even arrived yet. We each had 3 cocktails over the night, and at the end, all the glasses were still on the table as they never took the empty glasses off our table whenever they brought over fresh cocktails. The mussels was a good size portion for €8. The mussel sauce/soup was lovely, however it seemed as if the soup was poured first, then the mussels on top. There was no soup on the mussels, which made them taste dry and salty. I maybe was supposed to dip it into the sauce myself? I assume not though, as there was no way for me to get to the sauce until my bowl was empty. The prawns sauce was pure butter and made me feel sick. Very expensive for average food.

Had some really good tapas dishes here. The flavours are really intense in the best way, everything was so tasty. Great vibes, service wasn't bad either. Although the tapas did come out as prepared there wasn't a really long wait between them which is ideal. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was the portion sizes of a couple of dishes as they did not equate to the prices. I have no problem paying for good quality food but I don't want to leave possibly hungry in an hours time. Would come back here and recommend but I do hope with time they increase portion sizes!

I had an enjoyable evening here with friends, we all enjoyed the food. The setting and atmosphere was good. I feel that the customer experience would be greatly enhanced if there was another staff member on the floor. The staff were a small team and very nice but we're constantly on the go between cleaning and serving and were hard to get the attention of with the restaurant 3/4 full. It would have been nice to have some more attention and service. Overall, a good experience.

Second time in toro tonight, best food ever! Will definitely be back in the near future

The food was delicious, lovely choices. We know for tapas you don't expect everything at the same time so that's okay. For food we had like 8 dishes and 2 deserts. All delicious. We had white wine / organic - it was lovely. We also had white sangria - delicious. The only thing wasn't great for my partner was the tables as was a barrel and he couldn't sit comfortable. It is not suitable for everybody the table as are tall stools and you can't pull your chair under all the tables. Staff was lovely very polite nice and lots of attention. The service was very fast and not slow like everybody mentioned in the reviews. Like you're going to enjoy a night out slowly and not eating fast as in a take away. I really recommend for anyone who wants to try it. It was a nice experience.
